Jeremías 42:1 Y LLEGARONSE todos los oficiales de la gente de guerra, y Johanán hijo de Carea, y Jezanías hijo de Osaía, y todo el pueblo desde el menor hasta el mayor,	Jeremiah 42:1 Then all the captains of the forces, and Johanan, the son of Kareah, and Jezaniah, the son of Hoshaiah, and all the people from the least to the greatest, came near,
Jeremías 42:2 Y dijeron á Jeremías profeta: Caiga ahora nuestro ruego delante de ti, y ruega por nosotros á Jehová tu Dios, por todo este resto, (pues hemos quedado unos pocos de muchos, como nos ven tus ojos,)	Jeremiah 42:2 And said to Jeremiah the prophet, Let our request come before you, and make prayer for us to the Lord your God, even for this small band of us; for we are only a small band out of what was a great number, as your eyes may see:
Jeremías 42:3 Para que Jehová tu Dios nos enseñe camino por donde vayamos, y lo que hemos de hacer.	Jeremiah 42:3 That the Lord your God may make clear to us the way in which we are to go and what we are to do.
Jeremías 42:4 Y Jeremías profeta les dijo: Ya he oído. He aquí que voy á orar á Jehová vuestro Dios, como habéis dicho; y será que todo lo que Jehová os respondiere, os enseñaré: no os reservaré palabra.	Jeremiah 42:4 Then Jeremiah the prophet said to them, I have given ear to you; see, I will make prayer to the Lord your God, as you have said; and it will be that, whatever the Lord may say in answer to you, I will give you word of it, keeping nothing back.
Jeremías 42:5 Y ellos dijeron á Jeremías: Jehová sea entre nosotros testigo de la verdad y de la lealtad, si no hiciéremos conforme á todo aquello para lo cual Jehová tu Dios te enviare á nosotros.	Jeremiah 42:5 Then they said to Jeremiah, May the Lord be a true witness against us in good faith, if we do not do everything which the Lord your God sends you to say to us.
Jeremías 42:6 Ora sea bueno, ora malo, á la voz de Jehová nuestro Dios, al cual te enviamos, obedeceremos; para que, obedeciendo á la voz de Jehová nuestro Dios, tengamos bien.	Jeremiah 42:6 If it is good or if it is evil, we will be guided by the voice of the Lord our God, to whom we are sending you; so that it may be well for us when we give ear to the voice of the Lord our God.
Jeremías 42:7 Y aconteció que al cabo de diez días fué palabra de Jehová á Jeremías.	Jeremiah 42:7 And it came about that after ten days the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah.
Jeremías 42:8 Y llamó á Johanán hijo de Carea, y á todos los oficiales de la gente de guerra que con él estaban, y á todo el pueblo desde el menor hasta el mayor;	Jeremiah 42:8 And he sent for Johanan, the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces who were still with him, and all the people, from the least to the greatest,
Jeremías 42:9 Y díjoles: Así ha dicho Jehová Dios de Israel, al cual me enviasteis para que hiciese caer vuestros ruegos en su presencia:	Jeremiah 42:9 And said to them, These are the words of the Lord, the God of Israel, to whom you sent me to put your request before him:
Jeremías 42:10 Si os quedareis quietos en esta tierra, os edificaré, y no os destruiré; os plantaré, y no os arrancaré: porque arrepentido estoy del mal que os he hecho.	Jeremiah 42:10 If you still go on living in the land, then I will go on building you up and not pulling you down, planting you and not uprooting you: for my purpose of doing evil to you has been changed.
Jeremías 42:11 No temáis de la presencia del rey de Babilonia, del cual tenéis temor; no temáis de su presencia, ha dicho Jehová, porque con vosotros estoy yo para salvaros y libraros de su mano:	Jeremiah 42:11 Have no fear of the king of Babylon, of whom you are now in fear; have no fear of him, says the Lord: for I am with you to keep you safe and to give you salvation from his hands.
Jeremías 42:12 Y os daré misericordias, y tendrá misericordia de vosotros, y os hará tornar á vuestra tierra.	Jeremiah 42:12 And I will have mercy on you, so that he may have mercy on you and let you go back to your land.
Jeremías 42:13 Mas si dijereis: No moraremos en esta tierra, no obedeciendo así á la voz de Jehová vuestro Dios,	Jeremiah 42:13 But if you say, We have no desire to go on living in this land; and do not give ear to the voice of the Lord your God,
Jeremías 42:14 Y diciendo: No, antes nos entraremos en tierra de Egipto, en la cual no veremos guerra, ni oiremos sonido de trompeta, ni tendremos hambre de pan, y allá moraremos:	Jeremiah 42:14 Saying, No, but we will go into the land of Egypt, where we will not see war, or be hearing the sound of the horn, or be in need of food; there we will make our living-place;
Jeremías 42:15 Ahora por eso, oid la palabra de Jehová, reliquias de Judá: Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel: Si vosotros volviereis vuestros rostros para entrar en Egipto, y entrareis para peregrinar allá,	Jeremiah 42:15 Then give ear now to the word of the Lord, O you last of Judah: the Lord of armies, the God of Israel, has said, If your minds are fixed on going into Egypt and stopping there;
Jeremías 42:16 Será que el cuchillo que teméis, os alcanzará allí en tierra de Egipto, y el hambre de que tenéis temor, allá en Egipto se os pegará; y allí moriréis.	Jeremiah 42:16 Then it will come about that the sword, which is the cause of your fear, will overtake you there in the land of Egypt, and need of food, which you are fearing, will go after you there in Egypt; and there death will come to you.
Jeremías 42:17 Será pues, que todos los hombres que tornaren sus rostros para entrarse en Egipto, para peregrinar allí, morirán á cuchillo, de hambre, y de pestilencia: no habrá de ellos quien quede vivo, ni quien escape delante del mal que traeré yo sobre ellos.	Jeremiah 42:17 Such will be the fate of all the men whose minds are fixed on going into Egypt and stopping there; they will come to their end by the sword, by being short of food, and by disease: not one of them will keep his life or get away from the evil which I will send on them.
Jeremías 42:18 Porque así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel: Como se derramó mi enojo y mi ira sobre los moradores de Jerusalem, así se derramará mi ira sobre vosotros, cuando entrareis en Egipto; y seréis por juramento y por espanto, y por maldición y por afrenta; y no veréis más este lugar.	Jeremiah 42:18 For this is what the Lord of armies, the God of Israel, has said: As my wrath and passion have been let loose on the people of Jerusalem, so will my passion be let loose on you when you go into Egypt: and you will become an oath and a cause of wonder and a curse and a name of shame; and you will never see this place again.
Jeremías 42:19 Jehová habló sobre vosotros, oh reliquias de Judá: No entréis en Egipto: sabed por cierto que os aviso hoy.	Jeremiah 42:19 The Lord has said about you, O last of Judah, Go not into Egypt: be certain that I have given witness to you this day.
Jeremías 42:20 ¿Por qué hicisteis errar vuestras almas? porque vosotros me enviasteis á Jehová vuestro Dios, diciendo: Ora por nosotros á Jehová nuestro Dios; y conforme á todas las cosas que Jehová nuestro Dios dijere, háznoslo saber así, y lo pondremos por obra.	Jeremiah 42:20 For you have been acting with deceit in your hearts; for you sent me to the Lord your God, saying, Make prayer for us to the Lord our God, and give us word of everything he may say, and we will do it.
Jeremías 42:21 Y os lo he denunciado hoy, y no habéis obedecido á la voz de Jehová vuestro Dios, ni á todas las cosas por las cuales me envió á vosotros.	Jeremiah 42:21 And this day I have made it clear to you, and you have not given ear to the voice of the Lord your God in anything for which he has sent me to you.
Jeremías 42:22 Ahora pues sabed de cierto que á cuchillo, y de hambre y pestilencia, moriréis en el lugar donde deseasteis entrar para peregrinar allí.	Jeremiah 42:22 And now be certain that you will come to your end by the sword and by being short of food and by disease, in the place to which you are pleased to go for a living-place.
