Juan 5	John 5
Juan 5:1 DESPUÉS de estas cosas, era un día de fiesta de los Judíos, y subió Jesús á Jerusalem.	John 5:1 After these things there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
Juan 5:2 Y hay en Jerusalem á la puerta del ganado un estanque, que en hebraico es llamado Bethesda, el cual tiene cinco portales.	John 5:2 Now in Jerusalem near the sheep-market there is a public bath which in Hebrew is named Beth-zatha. It has five doorways.
Juan 5:3 En éstos yacía multitud de enfermos, ciegos, cojos, secos, que estaban esperando el movimiento del agua.	John 5:3 In these doorways there were a great number of people with different diseases: some unable to see, some without the power of walking, some with wasted bodies.
Juan 5:4 Porque un ángel descendía á cierto tiempo al estanque, y revolvía el agua; y el que primero descendía en el estanque después del movimiento del agua, era sano de cualquier enfermedad que tuviese.	John 5:4 []
Juan 5:5 Y estaba allí un hombre que había treinta y ocho años que estaba enfermo.	John 5:5 One man was there who had been ill for thirty-eight years.
Juan 5:6 Como Jesús vió á éste echado, y entendió que ya había mucho tiempo, dícele: ¿Quieres ser sano?	John 5:6 When Jesus saw him there on the floor it was clear to him that he had been now a long time in that condition, and so he said to the man, Is it your desire to get well?
Juan 5:7 Señor, le respondió el enfermo, no tengo hombre que me meta en el estánque cuando el agua fuere revuelta; porque entre tanto que yo vengo, otro antes de mí ha descendido.	John 5:7 The ill man said in answer, Sir, I have nobody to put me into the bath when the water is moving; and while I am on the way down some other person gets in before me.
Juan 5:8 Dícele Jesús: Levántate, toma tu lecho, y anda.	John 5:8 Jesus said to him, Get up, take your bed and go.
Juan 5:9 Y luego aquel hombre fué sano, y tomó su lecho, é íbase. Y era sábado aquel día.	John 5:9 And the man became well straight away, and took up his bed and went. Now that day was the Sabbath.
Juan 5:10 Entonces los Judíos decían á aquel que había sido sanado: Sábado es: no te es lícito llevar tu lecho.	John 5:10 So the Jews said to the man who had been made well, It is the Sabbath; and it is against the law for you to take up your bed.
Juan 5:11 Respondióles: El que me sanó, él mismo me dijo: Toma tu lecho y anda.	John 5:11 He said to them, But he who made me well, said to me, Take up your bed and go.
Juan 5:12 Preguntáronle entonces: ¿Quién es el que te dijo: Toma tu lecho y anda?	John 5:12 Then they put to him the question: Who is the man who said to you, Take it up and go?
Juan 5:13 Y el que había sido sanado, no sabía quién fuese; porque Jesús se había apartado de la gente que estaba en aquel lugar.	John 5:13 Now he who had been made well had no knowledge who it was, Jesus having gone away because of the number of people who were in that place.
Juan 5:14 Después le halló Jesús en el templo, y díjole: He aquí, has sido sanado; no peques más, porque no te venga alguna cosa peor.	John 5:14 After a time Jesus came across him in the Temple and said to him, See, you are well and strong; do no more sin for fear a worse thing comes to you.
Juan 5:15 El se fué, y dió aviso á los Judíos, que Jesús era el que le había sanado.	John 5:15 The man went away and said to the Jews that it was Jesus who had made him well.
Juan 5:16 Y por esta causa los Judíos perseguían á Jesús, y procuraban matarle, porque hacía estas cosas en sábado.	John 5:16 And for this reason the Jews were turned against Jesus, because he was doing these things on the Sabbath.
Juan 5:17 Y Jesús les respondió: Mi Padre hasta ahora obra, y yo obro.	John 5:17 But his answer was: My Father is still working even now, and so I am working.
Juan 5:18 Entonces, por tanto, más procuraban los Judíos matarle, porque no sólo quebrantaba el sábado, sino que también á su Padre llamaba Dios, haciéndose igual á Dios.	John 5:18 For this cause the Jews had an even greater desire to put Jesus to death, because not only did he not keep the Sabbath but he said God was his Father, so making himself equal with God.
Juan 5:19 Respondió entonces Jesús, y díjoles: De cierto, de cierto os digo: No puede el Hijo hacer nada de sí mismo, sino lo que viere hacer al Padre: porque todo lo que él hace, esto también hace el Hijo juntamente.	John 5:19 So Jesus made answer and said, Truly I say to you, The Son is not able to do anything himself; he is able to do only what he sees the Father doing; whatever the Father does the Son does it in the same way.
Juan 5:20 Porque el Padre ama al Hijo, y le muestra todas las cosas que él hace; y mayores obras que éstas le mostrará, de suerte que vosotros os maravilléis.	John 5:20 For the Father has love for the Son and lets him see everything which he does: and he will let him see greater works than these so that you may be full of wonder.
Juan 5:21 Porque como el Padre levanta los muertos, y les da vida, así también el Hijo á los que quiere da vida.	John 5:21 In the same way, as the Father gives life to the dead, even so the Son gives life to those to whom he is pleased to give it.
Juan 5:22 Porque el Padre á nadie juzga, mas todo el juicio dió al Hijo;	John 5:22 The Father is not the judge of men, but he has given all decisions into the hands of the Son;
Juan 5:23 Para que todos honren al Hijo como honran al Padre. El que no honra al Hijo, no honra al Padre que le envió.	John 5:23 So that all men may give honour to the Son even as they give honour to the Father. He who gives no honour to the Son gives no honour to the Father who sent him.
Juan 5:24 De cierto, de cierto os digo: El que oye mi palabra, y cree al que me ha enviado, tiene vida eterna; y no vendrá á condenación, mas pasó de muerte á vida.	John 5:24 Truly I say to you, The man whose ears are open to my word and who has faith in him who sent me, has eternal life; he will not be judged, but has come from death into life.
Juan 5:25 De cierto, de cierto os digo: Vendrá hora, y ahora es, cuando los muertos oirán la voz del Hijo de Dios: y los que oyeren vivirán.	John 5:25 Truly I say to you, The time is coming, it has even now come, when the voice of the Son of God will come to the ears of the dead, and those hearing it will have life.
Juan 5:26 Porque como el Padre tiene vida en sí mismo, así dió también al Hijo que tuviese vida en sí mismo:	John 5:26 For even as the Father has life in himself, so he has given to the Son to have life in himself.
Juan 5:27 Y también le dió poder de hacer juicio, en cuanto es el Hijo del hombre.	John 5:27 And he has given him authority to be judge because he is the Son of man.
Juan 5:28 No os maravilléis de esto; porque vendrá hora, cuando todos los que están en los sepulcros oirán su voz;	John 5:28 Do not be surprised at this: for the time is coming when his voice will come to all who are in the place of the dead,
Juan 5:29 Y los que hicieron bien, saldrán á resurrección de vida; mas los que hicieron mal, á resurrección de condenación.	John 5:29 And they will come out; those who have done good, into the new life; and those who have done evil, to be judged.
Juan 5:30 No puedo yo de mí mismo hacer nada: como oigo, juzgo: y mi juicio es justo; porque no busco mi voluntad, mas la voluntad del que me envió, del Padre.	John 5:30 Of myself I am unable to do anything: as the voice comes to me so I give a decision: and my decision is right because I have no desire to do what is pleasing to myself, but only what is pleasing to him who sent me.
Juan 5:31 Si yo doy testimonio de mí mismo, mi testimonio no es verdadero.	John 5:31 If I gave witness about myself, my witness would not be true.
Juan 5:32 Otro es el que da testimonio de mí; y sé que el testimonio que da de mí, es verdadero.	John 5:32 There is another who gives witness about me and I am certain that the witness he gives about me is true.
Juan 5:33 Vosotros enviasteis á Juan, y él dió testimonio á la verdad.	John 5:33 You sent to John and he gave true witness.
Juan 5:34 Empero yo no tomo el testimonio de hombre; mas digo esto, para que vosotros seáis salvos.	John 5:34 But I have no need of a man's witness: I only say these things so that you may have salvation.
Juan 5:35 El era antorcha que ardía y alumbraba: y vosotros quisisteis recrearos por un poco á su luz.	John 5:35 He was a burning and shining light, and for a time you were ready to be happy in his light.
Juan 5:36 Mas yo tengo mayor testimonio que el de Juan: porque las obras que el Padre me dió que cumpliese, las mismas obras que yo hago, dan testimonio de mí, que el Padre me haya enviado.	John 5:36 But the witness which I have is greater than that of John: the work which the Father has given me to do, the very work which I am now doing, is a witness that the Father has sent me.
Juan 5:37 Y el que me envió, el Padre, él ha dado testimonio de mí. Ni nunca habéis oído su voz, ni habéis visto su parecer.	John 5:37 And the Father himself who sent me has given witness about me. Not one of you has ever given ear to his voice; his form you have not seen.
Juan 5:38 Ni tenéis su palabra permanente en vosotros; porque al que él envió, á éste vosotros no creéis.	John 5:38 And you have not kept his word in your hearts, because you have not faith in him whom he has sent.
Juan 5:39 Escudriñad las Escrituras, porque á vosotros os parece que en ellas tenéis la vida eterna; y ellas son las que dan testimonio de mí.	John 5:39 You make search in the holy Writings, in the belief that through them you get eternal life; and it is those Writings which give witness about me.
Juan 5:40 Y no queréis venir á mí, para que tengáis vida.	John 5:40 And still you have no desire to come to me so that you may have life.
Juan 5:41 Gloria de los hombres no recibo.	John 5:41 I do not take honour from men;
Juan 5:42 Mas yo os conozco, que no tenéis amor de Dios en vosotros.	John 5:42 But I have knowledge of you that you have no love for God in your hearts.
Juan 5:43 Yo he venido en nombre de mi Padre, y no me recibís: si otro viniere en su propio nombre, á aquél recibiréis.	John 5:43 I have come in my Father's name, and your hearts are not open to me. If another comes with no other authority but himself, you will give him your approval.
Juan 5:44 ¿Cómo podéis vosotros creer, pues tomáis la gloria los unos de los otros, y no buscáis la gloria que de sólo Dios viene?	John 5:44 How is it possible for you to have faith while you take honour one from another and have no desire for the honour which comes from the only God?
Juan 5:45 No penséis que yo os tengo de acusar delante del Padre; hay quien os acusa, Moisés, en quien vosotros esperáis.	John 5:45 Put out of your minds the thought that I will say things against you to the Father: the one who says things against you is Moses, on whom you put your hopes.
Juan 5:46 Porque si vosotros creyeseis á Moisés, creeríais á mí; porque de mí escribió él.	John 5:46 If you had belief in Moses you would have belief in me; for his writings are about me.
Juan 5:47 Y si á sus escritos no creéis, ¿cómo creeréis á mis palabras?	John 5:47 If you have no belief in his writings, how will you have belief in my words?
