| ALELUYA. Alabad á Jehová, porque es bueno; Porque para siempre es su misericordia. | Let the Lord be praised. O give praise to the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy is unchanging for ever. |
| ¿Quién expresará las valentías de Jehová? ¿Quién contará sus alabanzas? | Who is able to give an account of the great acts of the Lord, or to make clear all his praise? |
| Dichosos los que guardan juicio, Los que hacen justicia en todo tiempo. | Happy are they whose decisions are upright, and he who does righteousness at all times. |
| Acuérdate de mí, oh Jehová, según tu benevolencia para con tu pueblo: Visítame con tu salud; | Keep me in mind, O Lord, when you are good to your people; O let your salvation come to me; |
| Para que yo vea el bien de tus escogidos, Para que me goce en la alegría de tu gente, Y me gloríe con tu heredad. | So that I may see the well-being of the people of your selection, and have a part in the joy of your nation, and take pride in your heritage. |
| Pecamos con nuestros padres, Hicimos iniquidad, hicimos impiedad. | We are sinners like our fathers, we have done wrong, our acts are evil. |
| Nuestros padres en Egipto no entendieron tus maravillas; No se acordaron de la muchedumbre de tus misericordias; Sino que se rebelaron junto á la mar, en el mar Bermejo. | Our fathers did not give thought to your wonders in Egypt; they did not keep in memory the great number of your mercies, but gave you cause for wrath at the sea, even at the Red Sea. |
| Salvólos empero por amor de su nombre, Para hacer notoria su fortaleza. | But he was their saviour because of his name, so that men might see his great power. |
| Y reprendió al mar Bermejo, y secólo; E hízoles ir por el abismo, como por un desierto. | By his word the Red Sea was made dry: and he took them through the deep waters as through the waste land. |
| Y salvólos de mano del enemigo, Y rescatólos de mano del adversario. | And he took them safely out of the hands of their haters, and kept them from the attacks of those who were against them. |
| Y cubrieron las aguas á sus enemigos: No quedó uno de ellos. | And the waters went over their haters; all of them came to an end. |
| Entonces creyeron á sus palabras, Y cantaron su alabanza. | Then they had faith in his words; they gave him songs of praise. |
| Apresuráronse, olvidáronse de sus obras; No esperaron en su consejo. | But their memory of his works was short; not waiting to be guided by him, |
| Y desearon con ansia en el desierto; Y tentaron á Dios en la soledad. | They gave way to their evil desires in the waste land, and put God to the test in the dry places. |
| Y él les dió lo que pidieron; Mas envió flaqueza en sus almas. | And he gave them their request, but sent a wasting disease into their souls. |
| Tomaron después celo contra Moisés en el campo, Y contra Aarón el santo de Jehová. | They were full of envy against Moses among the tents, and against Aaron, the holy one of the Lord. |
| Abrióse la tierra, y tragó á Dathán, Y cubrió la compañía de Abiram. | The earth opening put an end to Dathan, covering up Abiram and his band. |
| Y encendióse el fuego en su junta; La llama quemó los impíos. | And a fire was lighted among their tents; the sinners were burned up by the flames. |
| Hicieron becerro en Horeb, Y encorváronse á un vaciadizo. | They made a young ox in Horeb, and gave worship to an image of gold. |
| Así trocaron su gloria Por la imagen de un buey que come hierba. | And their glory was changed into the image of an ox, whose food is grass. |
| Olvidaron al Dios de su salud, Que había hecho grandezas en Egipto; | They had no memory of God their saviour, who had done great things in Egypt; |
| Maravillas en la tierra de Châm, Cosas formidables sobre el mar Bermejo. | Works of wonder in the land of Ham, and things of fear by the Red Sea. |
| Y trató de destruirlos, A no haberse puesto Moisés su escogido al portillo delante de él, A fin de apartar su ira, para que no los destruyese. | And he was purposing to put an end to them if Moses, his special servant, had not gone up before him, between him and his people, turning back his wrath, to keep them from destruction. |
| Empero aborrecieron la tierra deseable: No creyeron á su palabra; | They were disgusted with the good land; they had no belief in his word; |
| Antes murmuraron en sus tiendas, Y no oyeron la voz de Jehová. | Talking against him secretly in their tents, they did not give ear to the voice of the Lord. |
| Por lo que alzó su mano á ellos, En orden á postrarlos en el desierto, | So he made an oath against them, to put an end to them in the waste land: |
| Y humillar su simiente entre las gentes, Y esparcirlos por las tierras. | That their children might be mixed among the nations, and sent away into other lands. |
| Allegáronse asimismo á Baalpeor, Y comieron los sacrificios de los muertos. | And they were joined to Baal-peor, and took part in the offerings to the dead. |
| Y ensañaron á Dios con sus obras, Y desarrollóse la mortandad en ellos. | So they made him angry by their behaviour; and he sent disease on them. |
| Entonces se levantó Phinees, é hizo juicio; Y se detuvo la plaga. | Then Phinehas got up, and made prayer for them; and the disease went no farther. |
| Y fuéle contado á justicia De generación en generación para siempre. | And all the generations coming after him kept the memory of his righteousness for ever. |
| También le irritaron en las aguas de Meriba: E hizo mal á Moisés por causa de ellos; | They made God angry again at the waters of Meribah, so that Moses was troubled because of them; |
| Porque hicieron se rebelase su espíritu, Como lo expresó con sus labios. | For they made his spirit bitter, and he said unwise things. |
| No destruyeron los pueblos Que Jehová les dijo; | They did not put an end to the peoples, as the Lord had said; |
| Antes se mezclaron con las gentes, Y aprendieron sus obras. | But they were joined to the nations, learning their works. |
| Y sirvieron á sus ídolos; Los cuales les fueron por ruina. | And they gave worship to images; which were a danger to them: |
| Y sacrificaron sus hijos y sus hijas á los demonios; | They even made offerings of their sons and their daughters to evil spirits, |
| Y derramaron la sangre inocente, la sangre de sus hijos y de sus hijas, Que sacrificaron á los ídolos de Canaán: Y la tierra fué contaminada con sangre. | And gave the blood of their sons and their daughters who had done no wrong, offering them to the images of Canaan; and the land was made unclean with blood. |
| Contamináronse así con sus obras, Y fornicaron con sus hechos. | So they became unclean through their works, going after their evil desires. |
| Encendióse por tanto el furor de Jehová sobre su pueblo, Y abominó su heredad: | Then the wrath of the Lord was burning against his people, and he was angry with his heritage. |
| Y entrególos en poder de las gentes, Y enseñoreáronse de ellos los que los aborrecían. | And he gave them into the hands of the nations; and they were ruled by their haters. |
| Y sus enemigos los oprimieron, Y fueron quebrantados debajo de su mano. | By them they were crushed, and made low under their hands. |
| Muchas veces los libró; Mas ellos se rebelaron á su consejo, Y fueron humillados por su maldad. | Again and again he made them free; but their hearts were turned against his purpose, and they were overcome by their sins. |
| El con todo, miraba cuando estaban en angustia, Y oía su clamor: | But when their cry came to his ears, he had pity on their trouble: |
| Y acordábase de su pacto con ellos, Y arrepentíase conforme á la muchedumbre de sus miseraciones. | And kept in mind his agreement with them, and in his great mercy gave them forgiveness. |
| Hizo asimismo tuviesen de ellos misericordia todos los que los tenían cautivos. | He put pity into the hearts of those who made them prisoners. |
| Sálvanos, Jehová Dios nuestro, Y júntanos de entre las gentes, Para que loemos tu santo nombre, Para que nos gloriemos en tus alabanzas. | Be our saviour, O Lord our God, and let us come back together from among the nations, so that we may give honour to your holy name, and have glory in your praise. |
| Bendito Jehová Dios de Israel, Desde el siglo y hasta el siglo: Y diga todo el pueblo, Amén. Aleluya. | Praise be to the Lord God of Israel for ever and for ever; and let all the people say, So be it. Give praise to the Lord. |
