Matthieu 1:1 Généalogie de Jésus Christ, fils de David, fils d`Abraham.	Matthew 1:1 The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.
Matthieu 1:2 Abraham engendra Isaac; Isaac engendra Jacob; Jacob engendra Juda et ses frères;	Matthew 1:2 Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat Judah and his brethren;
Matthieu 1:3 Juda engendra de Thamar Pharès et Zara; Pharès engendra Esrom; Esrom engendra Aram;	Matthew 1:3 and Judah begat Perez and Zerah of Tamar; and Perez begat Hezron; and Hezron begat Ram;
Matthieu 1:4 Aram engendra Aminadab; Aminadab engendra Naasson; Naasson engendra Salmon;	Matthew 1:4 and Ram begat Amminadab; and Amminadab begat Nahshon; and Nahshon begat Salmon;
Matthieu 1:5 Salmon engendra Boaz de Rahab; Boaz engendra Obed de Ruth;	Matthew 1:5 and Salmon begat Boaz of Rahab; and Boaz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse;
Matthieu 1:6 Obed engendra Isaï; Isaï engendra David. Le roi David engendra Salomon de la femme d`Urie;	Matthew 1:6 and Jesse begat David the king. And David begat Solomon of her [that had been the wife] of Uriah;
Matthieu 1:7 Salomon engendra Roboam; Roboam engendra Abia; Abia engendra Asa;	Matthew 1:7 and Solomon begat Rehoboam; and Rehoboam begat Abijah; and Abijah begat Asa;
Matthieu 1:8 Asa engendra Josaphat; Josaphat engendra Joram; Joram engendra Ozias;	Matthew 1:8 and Asa begat Jehoshaphat; and Jehoshaphat begat Joram; and Joram begat Uzziah;
Matthieu 1:9 Ozias engendra Joatham; Joatham engendra Achaz; Achaz engendra Ézéchias;	Matthew 1:9 and Uzziah begat Jotham; and Jotham begat Ahaz; and Ahaz begat Hezekiah;
Matthieu 1:10 Ézéchias engendra Manassé; Manassé engendra Amon; Amon engendra Josias;	Matthew 1:10 and Hezekiah begat Manasseh; and Manasseh begat Amon; and Amon begat Josiah;
Matthieu 1:11 Josias engendra Jéchonias et ses frères, au temps de la déportation à Babylone.	Matthew 1:11 and Josiah begat Jechoniah and his brethren, at the time of the carrying away to Babylon.
Matthieu 1:12 Après la déportation à Babylone, Jéchonias engendra Salathiel; Salathiel engendra Zorobabel;	Matthew 1:12 And after the carrying away to Babylon, Jechoniah begat Shealtiel; and Shealtiel begat Zerubbabel;
Matthieu 1:13 Zorobabel engendra Abiud; Abiud engendra Éliakim; Éliakim engendra Azor;	Matthew 1:13 and Zerubbabel begat Abiud; and Abiud begat Eliakim; and Eliakim begat Azor;
Matthieu 1:14 Azor engendra Sadok; Sadok engendra Achim; Achim engendra Éliud;	Matthew 1:14 and Azor begat Sadoc; and Sadoc begat Achim; and Achim begat Eliud;
Matthieu 1:15 Éliud engendra Éléazar; Éléazar engendra Matthan; Matthan engendra Jacob;	Matthew 1:15 and Eliud begat Eleazar; and Eleazar begat Matthan; and Matthan begat Jacob;
Matthieu 1:16 Jacob engendra Joseph, l`époux de Marie, de laquelle est né Jésus, qui est appelé Christ.	Matthew 1:16 and Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.
Matthieu 1:17 Il y a donc en tout quatorze générations depuis Abraham jusqu`à David, quatorze générations depuis David jusqu`à la déportation à Babylone, et quatorze générations depuis la déportation à Babylone jusqu`au Christ.	Matthew 1:17 So all the generations from Abraham unto David are fourteen generations; and from David unto the carrying away to Babylon fourteen generations; and from the carrying away to Babylon unto the Christ fourteen generations.
Matthieu 1:18 Voici de quelle manière arriva la naissance de Jésus Christ. Marie, sa mère, ayant été fiancée à Joseph, se trouva enceinte, par la vertu du Saint Esprit, avant qu`ils eussent habité ensemble.	Matthew 1:18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found with child of the Holy Spirit.
Matthieu 1:19 Joseph, son époux, qui était un homme de bien et qui ne voulait pas la diffamer, se proposa de rompre secrètement avec elle.	Matthew 1:19 And Joseph her husband, being a righteous man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privily.
Matthieu 1:20 Comme il y pensait, voici, un ange du Seigneur lui apparut en songe, et dit: Joseph, fils de David, ne crains pas de prendre avec toi Marie, ta femme, car l`enfant qu`elle a conçu vient du Saint Esprit;	Matthew 1:20 But when he thought on these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.
Matthieu 1:21 elle enfantera un fils, et tu lui donneras le nom de Jésus; c`est lui qui sauvera son peuple de ses péchés.	Matthew 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son; and thou shalt call his name JESUS; for it is he that shall save his people from their sins.
Matthieu 1:22 Tout cela arriva afin que s`accomplît ce que le Seigneur avait annoncé par le prophète:	Matthew 1:22 Now all this is come to pass, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying,
Matthieu 1:23 Voici, la vierge sera enceinte, elle enfantera un fils, et on lui donnera le nom d`Emmanuel, ce qui signifie Dieu avec nous.	Matthew 1:23 Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, And they shall call his name Immanuel; which is, being interpreted, God with us.
Matthieu 1:24 Joseph s`étant réveillé fit ce que l`ange du Seigneur lui avait ordonné, et il prit sa femme avec lui.	Matthew 1:24 And Joseph arose from his sleep, and did as the angel of the Lord commanded him, and took unto him his wife;
Matthieu 1:25 Mais il ne la connut point jusqu`à ce qu`elle eût enfanté un fils, auquel il donna le nom de Jésus.	Matthew 1:25 and knew her not till she had brought forth a son: and he called his name JESUS.
