Esaïe 42:1 Voici mon serviteur, que je soutiendrai, Mon élu, en qui mon âme prend plaisir. J`ai mis mon esprit sur lui; Il annoncera la justice aux nations.	Isaiah 42:1 See my servant, whom I am supporting, my loved one, in whom I take delight: I have put my spirit on him; he will give the knowledge of the true God to the nations.
Esaïe 42:2 Il ne criera point, il n`élèvera point la voix, Et ne la fera point entendre dans les rues.	Isaiah 42:2 He will make no cry, his voice will not be loud: his words will not come to men's ears in the streets.
Esaïe 42:3 Il ne brisera point le roseau cassé, Et il n`éteindra point la mèche qui brûle encore; Il annoncera la justice selon la vérité.	Isaiah 42:3 He will not let a crushed stem be quite broken, and he will not let a feebly burning light be put out: he will go on sending out the true word to the peoples.
Esaïe 42:4 Il ne se découragera point et ne se relâchera point, Jusqu`à ce qu`il ait établi la justice sur la terre, Et que les îles espèrent en sa loi.	Isaiah 42:4 His light will not be put out, and he will not be crushed, till he has given the knowledge of the true God to the earth, and the sea-lands will be waiting for his teaching.
Esaïe 42:5 Ainsi parle Dieu, l`Éternel, Qui a créé les cieux et qui les a déployés, Qui a étendu la terre et ses productions, Qui a donné la respiration à ceux qui la peuplent, Et le souffle à ceux qui y marchent.	Isaiah 42:5 God the Lord, even he who made the heavens, measuring them out on high; stretching out the earth, and giving its produce; he who gives breath to the people on it, and life to those who go about on it, says:
Esaïe 42:6 Moi, l`Éternel, je t`ai appelé pour le salut, Et je te prendrai par la main, Je te garderai, et je t`établirai pour traiter alliance avec le peuple, Pour être la lumière des nations,	Isaiah 42:6 I the Lord have made you the vessel of my purpose, I have taken you by the hand, and kept you safe, and I have given you to be an agreement to the people, and a light to the nations:
Esaïe 42:7 Pour ouvrir les yeux des aveugles, Pour faire sortir de prison le captif, Et de leur cachot ceux qui habitent dans les ténèbres.	Isaiah 42:7 To give eyes to the blind, to make free the prisoners from the prison, to let out those who are shut up in the dark.
Esaïe 42:8 Je suis l`Éternel, c`est là mon nom; Et je ne donnerai pas ma gloire à un autre, Ni mon honneur aux idoles.	Isaiah 42:8 I am the Lord; that is my name: I will not give my glory to another, or my praise to pictured images.
Esaïe 42:9 Voici, les premières choses se sont accomplies, Et je vous en annonce de nouvelles; Avant qu`elles arrivent, je vous les prédis.	Isaiah 42:9 See, the things said before have come about, and now I give word of new things: before they come I give you news of them.
Esaïe 42:10 Chantez à l`Éternel un cantique nouveau, Chantez ses louanges aux extrémités de la terre, Vous qui voguez sur la mer et vous qui la peuplez, Iles et habitants des îles!	Isaiah 42:10 Make a new song to the Lord, and let his praise be sounded from the end of the earth; you who go down to the sea, and everything in it, the sea-lands and their people.
Esaïe 42:11 Que le désert et ses villes élèvent la voix! Que les villages occupés par Kédar élèvent la voix! Que les habitants des rochers tressaillent d`allégresse! Que du sommet des montagnes retentissent des cris de joie!	Isaiah 42:11 Let the waste land and its flocks be glad, the tent-circles of Kedar; let the people of the rock give a glad cry, from the top of the mountains let them make a sound of joy.
Esaïe 42:12 Qu`on rende gloire à l`Éternel, Et que dans les îles on publie ses louanges!	Isaiah 42:12 Let them give glory to the Lord, sounding his praise in the sea-lands.
Esaïe 42:13 L`Éternel s`avance comme un héros, Il excite son ardeur comme un homme de guerre; Il élève la voix, il jette des cris, Il manifeste sa force contre ses ennemis.	Isaiah 42:13 The Lord will go out as a man of war, he will be moved to wrath like a fighting-man: his voice will be strong, he will give a loud cry; he will go against his attackers like a man of war.
Esaïe 42:14 J`ai longtemps gardé le silence, je me suis tu, je me suis contenu; Je crierai comme une femme en travail, Je serai haletant et je soufflerai tout à la fois.	Isaiah 42:14 I have long been quiet, I have kept myself in and done nothing: now I will make sounds of pain like a woman in childbirth, breathing hard and quickly.
Esaïe 42:15 Je ravagerai montagnes et collines, Et j`en dessécherai toute la verdure; Je changerai les fleuves en terre ferme, Et je mettrai les étangs à sec.	Isaiah 42:15 I will make waste mountains and hills, drying up all their plants; and I will make rivers dry, and pools dry land.
Esaïe 42:16 Je ferai marcher les aveugles sur un chemin qu`ils ne connaissent pas, Je les conduirai par des sentiers qu`ils ignorent; Je changerai devant eux les ténèbres en lumière, Et les endroits tortueux en plaine: Voilà ce que je ferai, et je ne les abandonnerai point.	Isaiah 42:16 And I will take the blind by a way of which they had no knowledge, guiding them by roads strange to them: I will make the dark places light before them, and the rough places level. These things will I do and will not give them up.
Esaïe 42:17 Ils reculeront, ils seront confus, Ceux qui se confient aux idoles taillées, Ceux qui disent aux idoles de fonte: Vous êtes nos dieux!	Isaiah 42:17 They will be turned back and be greatly shamed who put their hope in pictured images, who say to metal images, You are our gods.
Esaïe 42:18 Sourds, écoutez! Aveugles, regardez et voyez!	Isaiah 42:18 Give ear, you whose ears are shut; and let your eyes be open, you blind, so that you may see.
Esaïe 42:19 Qui est aveugle, sinon mon serviteur, Et sourd comme mon messager que j`envoie? Qui est aveugle, comme l`ami de Dieu, Aveugle comme le serviteur de l`Éternel?	Isaiah 42:19 Who is blind, but my servant? who has his ears stopped, but he whom I send? who is blind as my true one, or who has his ears shut like the Lord's servant?
Esaïe 42:20 Tu as vu beaucoup de choses, mais tu n`y as point pris garde; On a ouvert les oreilles, mais on n`a point entendu.	Isaiah 42:20 Seeing much, but keeping nothing in mind; his ears are open, but there is no hearing.
Esaïe 42:21 L`Éternel a voulu, pour le bonheur d`Israël, Publier une loi grande et magnifique.	Isaiah 42:21 It was the Lord's pleasure, because of his righteousness, to make the teaching great and give it honour.
Esaïe 42:22 Et c`est un peuple pillé et dépouillé! On les a tous enchaînés dans des cavernes, Plongés dans des cachots; Ils ont été mis au pillage, et personne qui les délivre! Dépouillés, et personne qui dise: Restitue!	Isaiah 42:22 But this is a people whose property has been taken away from them by force; they are all taken in holes, and shut up in prisons: they are made prisoners, and no one makes them free; they are taken by force and no one says, Give them back.
Esaïe 42:23 Qui parmi vous prêtera l`oreille à ces choses? Qui voudra s`y rendre attentif et écouter à l`avenir?	Isaiah 42:23 Who is there among you who will give ear to this? who will give attention to it for the time to come?
Esaïe 42:24 Qui a livré Jacob au pillage, Et Israël aux pillards? N`est-ce pas l`Éternel? Nous avons péché contre lui. Ils n`ont point voulu marcher dans ses voies, Et ils n`ont point écouté sa loi.	Isaiah 42:24 Who gave up Jacob to those who took away his goods, and Israel to his attackers? Did not the Lord? he against whom they did wrong, and in whose ways they would not go, turning away from his teaching.
Esaïe 42:25 Aussi a-t-il versé sur Israël l`ardeur de sa colère Et la violence de la guerre; La guerre l`a embrasé de toutes parts, et il n`a point compris; Elle l`a consumé, et il n`y a point pris garde.	Isaiah 42:25 For this reason he let loose on him the heat of his wrath, and his strength was like a flame; and it put fire round about him, but he did not see it; he was burned, but did not take it to heart.
