Jean 3:1 Mais il y eut un homme d`entre les pharisiens, nommé Nicodème, un chef des Juifs,	John 3:1 Now there was among the Pharisees a man named Nicodemus, who was one of the rulers of the Jews.
Jean 3:2 qui vint, lui, auprès de Jésus, de nuit, et lui dit: Rabbi, nous savons que tu es un docteur venu de Dieu; car personne ne peut faire ces miracles que tu fais, si Dieu n`est avec lui.	John 3:2 He came to Jesus by night and said to him, Rabbi, we are certain that you have come from God as a teacher, because no man would be able to do these signs which you do if God was not with him.
Jean 3:3 Jésus lui répondit: En vérité, en vérité, je te le dis, si un homme ne naît de nouveau, il ne peut voir le royaume de Dieu.	John 3:3 Jesus said to him, Truly, I say to you, Without a new birth no man is able to see the kingdom of God.
Jean 3:4 Nicodème lui dit: Comment un homme peut-il naître quand il est vieux? Peut-il rentrer dans le sein de sa mère et naître?	John 3:4 Nicodemus said to him, How is it possible for a man to be given birth when he is old? Is he able to go into his mother's body a second time and come to birth again?
Jean 3:5 Jésus répondit: En vérité, en vérité, je te le dis, si un homme ne naît d`eau et d`Esprit, il ne peut entrer dans le royaume de Dieu.	John 3:5 Jesus said in answer, Truly, I say to you, If a man's birth is not from water and from the Spirit, it is not possible for him to go into the kingdom of God.
Jean 3:6 Ce qui est né de la chair est chair, et ce qui est né de l`Esprit est Esprit.	John 3:6 That which has birth from the flesh is flesh, and that which has birth from the Spirit is spirit.
Jean 3:7 Ne t`étonne pas que je t`aie dit: Il faut que vous naissiez de nouveau.	John 3:7 Do not be surprised that I say to you, It is necessary for you to have a second birth.
Jean 3:8 Le vent souffle où il veut, et tu en entends le bruit; mais tu ne sais d`où il vient, ni où il va. Il en est ainsi de tout homme qui est né de l`Esprit.	John 3:8 The wind goes where its pleasure takes it, and the sound of it comes to your ears, but you are unable to say where it comes from and where it goes: so it is with everyone whose birth is from the Spirit.
Jean 3:9 Nicodème lui dit: Comment cela peut-il se faire?	John 3:9 And Nicodemus said to him, How is it possible for these things to be?
Jean 3:10 Jésus lui répondit: Tu es le docteur d`Israël, et tu ne sais pas ces choses!	John 3:10 And Jesus, answering, said, Are you the teacher of Israel and have no knowledge of these things?
Jean 3:11 En vérité, en vérité, je te le dis, nous disons ce que nous savons, et nous rendons témoignage de ce que nous avons vu; et vous ne recevez pas notre témoignage.	John 3:11 Truly, I say to you, We say that of which we have knowledge; we give witness of what we have seen; and you do not take our witness to be true.
Jean 3:12 Si vous ne croyez pas quand je vous ai parlé des choses terrestres, comment croirez-vous quand je vous parlerai des choses célestes?	John 3:12 If you have no belief when my words are about the things of earth, how will you have belief if my words are about the things of heaven?
Jean 3:13 Personne n`est monté au ciel, si ce n`est celui qui est descendu du ciel, le Fils de l`homme qui est dans le ciel.	John 3:13 And no one has ever gone up to heaven but he who came down from heaven, the Son of man.
Jean 3:14 Et comme Moïse éleva le serpent dans le désert, il faut de même que le Fils de l`homme soit élevé,	John 3:14 As the snake was lifted up by Moses in the waste land, even so it is necessary for the Son of man to be lifted up:
Jean 3:15 afin que quiconque croit en lui ait la vie éternelle.	John 3:15 So that whoever has faith may have in him eternal life.
Jean 3:16 Car Dieu a tant aimé le monde qu`il a donné son Fils unique, afin que quiconque croit en lui ne périsse point, mais qu`il ait la vie éternelle.	John 3:16 For God had such love for the world that he gave his only Son, so that whoever has faith in him may not come to destruction but have eternal life.
Jean 3:17 Dieu, en effet, n`a pas envoyé son Fils dans le monde pour qu`il juge le monde, mais pour que le monde soit sauvé par lui.	John 3:17 God did not send his Son into the world to be judge of the world; he sent him so that the world might have salvation through him.
Jean 3:18 Celui qui croit en lui n`est point jugé; mais celui qui ne croit pas est déjà jugé, parce qu`il n`a pas cru au nom du Fils unique de Dieu.	John 3:18 The man who has faith in him does not come up to be judged; but he who has no faith in him has been judged even now, because he has no faith in the name of the only Son of God.
Jean 3:19 Et ce jugement c`est que, la lumière étant venue dans le monde, les hommes ont préféré les ténèbres à la lumière, parce que leurs oeuvres étaient mauvaises.	John 3:19 And this is the test by which men are judged: the light has come into the world and men have more love for the dark than for the light, because their acts are evil.
Jean 3:20 Car quiconque fait le mal hait la lumière, et ne vient point à la lumière, de peur que ses oeuvres ne soient dévoilées;	John 3:20 The light is hated by everyone whose acts are evil and he does not come to the light for fear that his acts will be seen.
Jean 3:21 mais celui qui agit selon la vérité vient à la lumière, afin que ses oeuvres soient manifestées, parce qu`elles sont faites en Dieu.	John 3:21 But he whose life is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his acts have been done by the help of God.
Jean 3:22 Après cela, Jésus, accompagné de ses disciples, se rendit dans la terre de Judée; et là il demeurait avec eux, et il baptisait.	John 3:22 After these things Jesus and his disciples went into the land of Judaea, and there he was with them for some time, giving baptism.
Jean 3:23 Jean aussi baptisait à Énon, près de Salim, parce qu`il y avait là beaucoup d`eau; et on y venait pour être baptisé.	John 3:23 Now John was then giving baptism at Aenon near Salim, because there was much water there; and people came and were given baptism.
Jean 3:24 Car Jean n`avait pas encore été mis en prison.	John 3:24 For at this time John had not been put into prison.
Jean 3:25 Or, il s`éleva de la part des disciples de Jean une dispute avec un Juif touchant la purification.	John 3:25 Then a question came up between John's disciples and a Jew about washing.
Jean 3:26 Ils vinrent trouver Jean, et lui dirent: Rabbi, celui qui était avec toi au delà du Jourdain, et à qui tu as rendu témoignage, voici, il baptise, et tous vont à lui.	John 3:26 And they went to John and said to him, Rabbi, the man who was with you on the other side of the Jordan, the man to whom you gave witness, is now giving baptism, and everyone is going to him.
Jean 3:27 Jean répondit: Un homme ne peut recevoir que ce qui lui a été donné du ciel.	John 3:27 And this was John's answer: A man is unable to have anything if it is not given to him from heaven.
Jean 3:28 Vous-mêmes m`êtes témoins que j`ai dit: Je ne suis pas le Christ, mais j`ai été envoyé devant lui.	John 3:28 You yourselves give witness that I said, I am not the Christ. What I said was, I am sent before the Christ.
Jean 3:29 Celui à qui appartient l`épouse, c`est l`époux; mais l`ami de l`époux, qui se tient là et qui l`entend, éprouve une grande joie à cause de la voix de l`époux: aussi cette joie, qui est la mienne, est parfaite.	John 3:29 He who has the bride is the husband: but the husband's friend, whose place is by his side and whose ears are open to him, is full of joy because of the husband's voice: such is my joy, and it is complete.
Jean 3:30 Il faut qu`il croisse, et que je diminue.	John 3:30 He has to become greater while I become less.
Jean 3:31 Celui qui vient d`en haut est au-dessus de tous; celui qui est de la terre est de la terre, et il parle comme étant de la terre. Celui qui vient du ciel est au-dessus de tous,	John 3:31 He who comes from heaven is greater than all others: he who comes from earth is of the earth, and of the earth are his words: he who comes from heaven is over all.
Jean 3:32 il rend témoignage de ce qu`il a vu et entendu, et personne ne reçoit son témoignage.	John 3:32 He gives witness of what he has seen and of what has come to his ears; and no man takes his witness as true.
Jean 3:33 Celui qui a reçu son témoignage a certifié que Dieu est vrai;	John 3:33 He who so takes his witness has made clear his faith that God is true.
Jean 3:34 car celui que Dieu a envoyé dit les paroles de Dieu, parce que Dieu ne lui donne pas l`Esprit avec mesure.	John 3:34 For he whom God has sent says God's words; and God does not give him the Spirit by measure.
Jean 3:35 Le Père aime le Fils, et il a remis toutes choses entre ses mains.	John 3:35 The Father has love for the Son and has put all things into his hands.
Jean 3:36 Celui qui croit au Fils a la vie éternelle; celui qui ne croit pas au Fils ne verra point la vie, mais la colère de Dieu demeure sur lui.	John 3:36 He who has faith in the Son has eternal life; but he who has not faith in the Son will not see life; God's wrath is resting on him.
