Joël 2:1 Sonnez de la trompette en Sion! Faites-la retentir sur ma montagne sainte! Que tous les habitants du pays tremblent! Car le jour de l`Éternel vient, car il est proche,	Joel 2:1 Let the horn be sounded in Zion, and a war-cry in my holy mountain; let all the people of the land be troubled: for the day of the Lord is coming;
Joël 2:2 Jour de ténèbres et d`obscurité, Jour de nuées et de brouillards, Il vient comme l`aurore se répand sur les montagnes. Voici un peuple nombreux et puissant, Tel qu`il n`y en a jamais eu, Et qu`il n`y en aura jamais dans la suite des âges.	Joel 2:2 For a day of dark and deep shade is near, a day of cloud and black night: like a black cloud a great and strong people is covering the mountains; there has never been any like them and will not be after them again, from generation to generation.
Joël 2:3 Devant lui est un feu dévorant, Et derrière lui une flamme brûlante; Le pays était auparavant comme un jardin d`Éden, Et depuis, c`est un désert affreux: Rien ne lui échappe.	Joel 2:3 Before them fire sends destruction, and after them flame is burning: the land is like the garden of Eden before them, and after them an unpeopled waste; truly, nothing has been kept safe from them.
Joël 2:4 A les voir, on dirait des chevaux, Et ils courent comme des cavaliers.	Joel 2:4 Their form is like the form of horses, and they are running like war-horses.
Joël 2:5 A les entendre, on dirait un bruit de chars Sur le sommet des montagnes où ils bondissent, On dirait un pétillement de la flamme du feu, Quand elle consume le chaume. C`est comme une armée puissante Qui se prépare au combat.	Joel 2:5 Like the sound of war-carriages they go jumping on the tops of the mountains; like the noise of a flame of fire burning up the grain-stems, like a strong people lined up for the fight.
Joël 2:6 Devant eux les peuples tremblent, Tous les visages pâlissent.	Joel 2:6 At their coming the people are bent with pain: all faces become red together.
Joël 2:7 Ils s`élancent comme des guerriers, Ils escaladent les murs comme des gens de guerre; Chacun va son chemin, Sans s`écarter de sa route.	Joel 2:7 They are running like strong men, they go over the wall like men of war; every man goes straight on his way, their lines are not broken.
Joël 2:8 Ils ne pressent point les uns les autres, Chacun garde son rang; Ils se précipitent au travers des traits Sans arrêter leur marche.	Joel 2:8 No one is pushing against another; everyone goes straight on his way: bursting through the sword points, their order is not broken.
Joël 2:9 Ils se répandent dans la ville, Courent sur les murailles, Montent sur les maisons, Entrent par les fenêtres comme un voleur.	Joel 2:9 They make a rush on the town, running on the wall; they go up into the houses and in through the windows like a thief.
Joël 2:10 Devant eux la terre tremble, Les cieux sont ébranlés, Le soleil et la lune s`obscurcissent, Et les étoiles retirent leur éclat.	Joel 2:10 The earth is troubled before them and the heavens are shaking: the sun and the moon have become dark, and the stars keep back their shining:
Joël 2:11 L`Éternel fait entendre sa voix devant son armée; Car son camp est immense, Et l`exécuteur de sa parole est puissant; Car le jour de l`Éternel est grand, il est terrible: Qui pourra le soutenir?	Joel 2:11 And the Lord is thundering before his forces; for very great is his army; for he is strong who gives effect to his word: for the day of the Lord is great and greatly to be feared, and who has strength against it?
Joël 2:12 Maintenant encore, dit l`Éternel, Revenez à moi de tout votre coeur, Avec des jeûnes, avec des pleurs et des lamentations!	Joel 2:12 But even now, says the Lord, come back to me with all your heart, keeping from food, with weeping and with sorrow:
Joël 2:13 Déchirez vos coeurs et non vos vêtements, Et revenez à l`Éternel, votre Dieu; Car il est compatissant et miséricordieux, Lent à la colère et riche en bonté, Et il se repent des maux qu`il envoie.	Joel 2:13 Let your hearts be broken, and not your clothing, and come back to the Lord your God: for he is full of grace and pity, slow to be angry and great in mercy, ready to be turned from his purpose of punishment.
Joël 2:14 Qui sait s`il ne reviendra pas et ne se repentira pas, Et s`il ne laissera pas après lui la bénédiction, Des offrandes et des libations pour l`Éternel, votre Dieu?	Joel 2:14 May it not be that he will again let his purpose be changed and let a blessing come after him, even a meal offering and a drink offering for the Lord your God?
Joël 2:15 Sonnez de la trompette en Sion! Publiez un jeûne, une convocation solennelle!	Joel 2:15 Let a horn be sounded in Zion, let a time be fixed for going without food, have a holy meeting:
Joël 2:16 Assemblez le peuple, formez une sainte réunion! Assemblez les vieillards, Assemblez les enfants, Même les nourrissons à la mamelle! Que l`époux sorte de sa demeure, Et l`épouse de sa chambre!	Joel 2:16 Get the people together, make the mass of the people holy, send for the old men, get together the children and babies at the breast: let the newly married man come out of his room and the bride from her tent.
Joël 2:17 Qu`entre le portique et l`autel Pleurent les sacrificateurs, Serviteurs de l`Éternel, Et qu`ils disent: Éternel, épargne ton peuple! Ne livre pas ton héritage à l`opprobre, Aux railleries des nations! Pourquoi dirait-on parmi les peuples: Où est leur Dieu?	Joel 2:17 Let the priests, the servants of the Lord, be weeping between the covered way and the altar, and let them say, Have mercy on your people, O Lord, do not give up your heritage to shame, so that the nations become their rulers: why let them say among the peoples, Where is their God?
Joël 2:18 L`Éternel est ému de jalousie pour son pays, Et il épargne son peuple.	Joel 2:18 Then the Lord had a care for the honour of his land and had pity on his people.
Joël 2:19 L`Éternel répond, il dit à son peuple: Voici, je vous enverrai du blé, Du moût et de l`huile, Et vous en serez rassasiés; Et je ne vous livrerai plus à l`opprobre parmi les nations.	Joel 2:19 And the Lord made answer and said to his people, See, I will send you grain and wine and oil in full measure: and I will no longer let you be shamed among the nations:
Joël 2:20 J`éloignerai de vous l`ennemi du nord, Je le chasserai vers une terre aride et déserte, Son avant-garde dans la mer orientale, Son arrière-garde dans la mer occidentale; Et son infection se répandra, Sa puanteur s`élèvera dans les airs, Parce qu`il a fait de grandes choses.	Joel 2:20 I will send the one from the north far away from you, driving him into a dry and waste land, with his front to the sea of the east and his back to the sea of the west, and the smell of him will go up, even his evil smell will go up.
Joël 2:21 Terre, ne crains pas, Sois dans l`allégresse et réjouis-toi, Car l`Éternel fait de grandes choses!	Joel 2:21 Have no fear, O land; be glad with great joy; for the Lord has done great things.
Joël 2:22 Bêtes des champs, ne craignez pas, Car les plaines du désert reverdiront, Car les arbres porteront leurs fruits, Le figuier et la vigne donneront leurs richesses.	Joel 2:22 Have no fear, you beasts of the field, for the grass-lands of the waste are becoming green, for the trees are producing fruit, the fig-tree and the vine give out their strength.
Joël 2:23 Et vous, enfants de Sion, soyez dans l`allégresse et réjouissez-vous En l`Éternel, votre Dieu, Car il vous donnera la pluie en son temps, Il vous enverra la pluie de la première et de l`arrière-saison, Comme autrefois.	Joel 2:23 Be glad, then, you children of Zion, and have joy in the Lord your God: for he gives you food in full measure, making the rain come down for you, the early and the late rain as at the first.
Joël 2:24 Les aires se rempliront de blé, Et les cuves regorgeront de moût et d`huile.	Joel 2:24 And the floors will be full of grain, and the crushing-places overflowing with wine and oil.
Joël 2:25 Je vous remplacerai les années Qu`ont dévorées la sauterelle, Le jélek, le hasil et le gazam, Ma grande armée que j`avais envoyée contre vous.	Joel 2:25 I will give back to you the years which were food for the locust, the plant-worm, the field-fly, and the worm, my great army which I sent among you.
Joël 2:26 Vous mangerez et vous vous rassasierez, Et vous célébrerez le nom de l`Éternel, votre Dieu, Qui aura fait pour vous des prodiges; Et mon peuple ne sera plus jamais dans la confusion.	Joel 2:26 You will have food in full measure, and give praise to the name of the Lord your God, who has done wonders for you:
Joël 2:27 Et vous saurez que je suis au milieu d`Israël, Que je suis l`Éternel, votre Dieu, et qu`il n`y en a point d`autre, Et mon peuple ne sera plus jamais dans la confusion.	Joel 2:27 And you will be certain that I am in Israel, and that I am the Lord your God, and there is no other: and my people will never be shamed.
Joël 2:28 Après cela, je répandrai mon esprit sur toute chair; Vos fils et vos filles prophétiseront, Vos vieillards auront des songes, Et vos jeunes gens des visions.	Joel 2:28 And after that, it will come about, says the Lord, that I will send my spirit on all flesh; and your sons and your daughters will be prophets, your old men will have dreams, your young men will see visions:
Joël 2:29 Même sur les serviteurs et sur les servantes, Dans ces jours-là, je répandrai mon esprit.	Joel 2:29 And on the servants and the servant-girls in those days I will send my spirit.
Joël 2:30 Je ferai paraître des prodiges dans les cieux et sur la terre, Du sang, du feu, et des colonnes de fumée;	Joel 2:30 And I will let wonders be seen in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and pillars of smoke.
Joël 2:31 Le soleil se changera en ténèbres, Et la lune en sang, Avant l`arrivée du jour de l`Éternel, De ce jour grand et terrible.	Joel 2:31 The sun will be made dark and the moon turned to blood, before the great day of the Lord comes, a day to be feared.
Joël 2:32 Alors quiconque invoquera le nom de l`Éternel sera sauvé; Le salut sera sur la montagne de Sion et à Jérusalem, Comme a dit l`Éternel, Et parmi les réchappés que l`Éternel appellera.	Joel 2:32 And it will be that whoever makes his prayer to the name of the Lord will be kept safe: for in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem some will be kept safe, as the Lord has said, and will be among the small band marked out by the Lord.
