Cantique des degrés. Ils m`ont assez opprimé dès ma jeunesse, Qu`Israël le dise!

A Song of the going up. Great have been my troubles from the time when I was young (let Israel now say);

Ils m`ont assez opprimé dès ma jeunesse, Mais ils ne m`ont pas vaincu.
Psalms 129:2 ^
Great have been my troubles from the time when I was young, but my troubles have not overcome me.
Psaumes 129:3 ^
Des laboureurs ont labouré mon dos, Ils y ont tracé de longs sillons.
Psalms 129:3 ^
The ploughmen were ploughing on my back; long were the wounds they made.
Psaumes 129:4 ^
L`Éternel est juste: Il a coupé les cordes des méchants.
Psalms 129:4 ^
The Lord is true: the cords of the evil-doers are broken in two.
Psaumes 129:5 ^
Qu`ils soient confondus et qu`ils reculent, Tous ceux qui haïssent Sion!
Psalms 129:5 ^
Let all the haters of Zion be shamed and turned back.
Psaumes 129:6 ^
Qu`ils soient comme l`herbe des toits, Qui sèche avant qu`on l`arrache!
Psalms 129:6 ^
Let them be like the grass on the house-tops, which is dry before it comes to full growth.
Psaumes 129:7 ^
Le moissonneur n`en remplit point sa main, Celui qui lie les gerbes n`en charge point son bras,
Psalms 129:7 ^
He who gets in the grain has no use for it; and they do not make bands of it for the grain-stems.
Psaumes 129:8 ^
Et les passants ne disent point: Que la bénédiction de l`Éternel soit sur vous! Nous vous bénissons au nom de l`Éternel!
Psalms 129:8 ^
And those who go by do not say, The blessing of the Lord be on you; we give you blessing in the name of the Lord.
