| De David. Éternel! j`élève à toi mon âme. | Of David. To you, O Lord, my soul is lifted up. |
| Mon Dieu! en toi je me confie: que je ne sois pas couvert de honte! Que mes ennemis ne se réjouissent pas à mon sujet! | O my God, I have put my faith in you, let me not be shamed; let not my haters be glorying over me. |
| Tous ceux qui espèrent en toi ne seront point confondus; Ceux-là seront confondus qui sont infidèles sans cause. | Let no servant of yours be put to shame; may those be shamed who are false without cause. |
| Éternel! fais-moi connaître tes voies, Enseigne-moi tes sentiers. | Make your steps clear to me, O Lord; give me knowledge of your ways. |
| Conduis-moi dans ta vérité, et instruis-moi; Car tu es le Dieu de mon salut, Tu es toujours mon espérance. | Be my guide and teacher in the true way; for you are the God of my salvation; I am waiting for your word all the day. |
| Éternel! souviens-toi de ta miséricorde et de ta bonté; Car elles sont éternelles. | O Lord, keep in mind your pity and your mercies; for they have been from the earliest times. |
| Ne te souviens pas des fautes de ma jeunesse ni de mes transgressions; Souviens-toi de moi selon ta miséricorde, A cause de ta bonté, ô Éternel! | Do not keep in mind my sins when I was young, or my wrongdoing: let your memory of me be full of mercy, O Lord, because of your righteousness. |
| L`Éternel est bon et droit: C`est pourquoi il montre aux pécheurs la voie. | Good and upright is the Lord: so he will be the teacher of sinners in the way. |
| Il conduit les humbles dans la justice, Il enseigne aux humbles sa voie. | He will be an upright guide to the poor in spirit: he will make his way clear to them. |
| Tous les sentiers de l`Éternel sont miséricorde et fidélité, Pour ceux qui gardent son alliance et ses commandements. | All the ways of the Lord are mercy and good faith for those who keep his agreement and his witness. |
| C`est à cause de ton nom, ô Éternel! Que tu pardonneras mon iniquité, car elle est grande. | Because of your name, O Lord, let me have forgiveness for my sin, which is very great. |
| Quel est l`homme qui craint l`Éternel? L`Éternel lui montre la voie qu`il doit choisir. | If a man has the fear of the Lord, the Lord will be his teacher in the way of his pleasure. |
| Son âme reposera dans le bonheur, Et sa postérité possédera le pays. | His soul will be full of good things, and his seed will have the earth for its heritage. |
| L`amitié de l`Éternel est pour ceux qui le craignent, Et son alliance leur donne instruction. | The secret of the Lord is with those in whose hearts is the fear of him; he will make his agreement clear to them. |
| Je tourne constamment les yeux vers l`Éternel, Car il fera sortir mes pieds du filet. | My eyes are turned to the Lord at all times; for he will take my feet out of the net. |
| Regarde-moi et aie pitié de moi, Car je suis abandonné et malheureux. | Be turned to me, and have mercy on me; for I am troubled and have no helper. |
| Les angoisses de mon coeur augmentent; Tire-moi de ma détresse. | The troubles of my heart are increased: O take me out of my sorrows. |
| Vois ma misère et ma peine, Et pardonne tous mes péchés. | Give thought to my grief and my pain; and take away all my sins. |
| Vois combien mes ennemis sont nombreux, Et de quelle haine violente ils me poursuivent. | See how those who are against me are increased, for bitter is their hate of me. |
| Garde mon âme et sauve-moi! Que je ne sois pas confus, Quand je cherche auprès de toi mon refuge! | O keep my soul, and take me out of danger: let me not be shamed, for I have put my faith in you. |
| Que l`innocence et la droiture me protègent, Quand je mets en toi mon espérance! | For my clean and upright ways keep me safe, because my hope is in you. |
| O Dieu! délivre Israël De toutes ses détresses! | Give Israel salvation, O God, out of all his troubles. |
