Ruth 3	Ruth 3
Ruth 3:1 Naomi, sa belle-mère, lui dit: Ma fille, je voudrais assurer ton repos, afin que tu fusses heureuse.	Ruth 3:1 And Naomi, her mother-in-law, said to her, My daughter, am I not to get you a resting-place where you may be in comfort?
Ruth 3:2 Et maintenant Boaz, avec les servantes duquel tu as été, n`est-il pas notre parent? Voici, il doit vanner cette nuit les orges qui sont dans l`aire.	Ruth 3:2 And now, is there not Boaz, our relation, with whose young women you were? See, tonight he is separating the grain from the waste in his grain-floor.
Ruth 3:3 Lave-toi et oins-toi, puis remets tes habits, et descends à l`aire. Tu ne te feras pas connaître à lui, jusqu`à ce qu`il ait achevé de manger et de boire.	Ruth 3:3 So take a bath, and, after rubbing your body with sweet oil, put on your best robe, and go down to the grain-floor; but do not let him see you till he has come to the end of his meal.
Ruth 3:4 Et quand il ira se coucher, observe le lieu où il se couche. Ensuite va, découvre ses pieds, et couche-toi. Il te dira lui-même ce que tu as à faire.	Ruth 3:4 But see to it, when he goes to rest, that you take note of the place where he is sleeping, and go in there, and, uncovering his feet, take your place by him; and he will say what you are to do.
Ruth 3:5 Elle lui répondit: Je ferai tout ce que tu as dit.	Ruth 3:5 And she said, I will do all you say.
Ruth 3:6 Elle descendit à l`aire, et fit tout ce qu`avait ordonné sa belle-mère.	Ruth 3:6 So she went down to the grain-floor and did all her mother-in-law had said to her.
Ruth 3:7 Boaz mangea et but, et son coeur était joyeux. Il alla se coucher à l`extrémité d`un tas de gerbes. Ruth vint alors tout doucement, découvrit ses pieds, et se coucha.	Ruth 3:7 Now when Boaz had taken meat and drink, and his heart was glad, he went to take his rest at the end of the mass of grain; then she came softly and, uncovering his feet, went to rest.
Ruth 3:8 Au milieu de la nuit, cet homme eut une frayeur; il se pencha, et voici, une femme était couchée à ses pieds.	Ruth 3:8 Now in the middle of the night, the man awaking from his sleep in fear, and lifting himself up, saw a woman stretched at his feet.
Ruth 3:9 Il dit: Qui es-tu? Elle répondit: Je suis Ruth, ta servante; étends ton aile sur ta servante, car tu as droit de rachat.	Ruth 3:9 And he said, Who are you? And she answering said, I am your servant Ruth: take your servant as wife, for you are a near relation.
Ruth 3:10 Et il dit: Sois bénie de l`Éternel, ma fille! Ce dernier trait témoigne encore plus en ta faveur que le premier, car tu n`as pas recherché des jeunes gens, pauvres ou riches.	Ruth 3:10 And he said, May the Lord give you his blessing, my daughter: even better than what you did at the first is this last kind act you have done, in not going after young men, with or without wealth.
Ruth 3:11 Maintenant, ma fille, ne crains point; je ferai pour toi tout ce que tu diras; car toute la porte de mon peuple sait que tu es une femme vertueuse.	Ruth 3:11 And now, my daughter, have no fear; I will do for you whatever you say: for it is clear to all my townspeople that you are a woman of virtue.
Ruth 3:12 Il est bien vrai que j`ai droit de rachat, mais il en existe un autre plus proche que moi.	Ruth 3:12 Now it is true that I am a near relation: but there is a relation nearer than I.
Ruth 3:13 Passe ici la nuit. Et demain, s`il veut user envers toi du droit de rachat, à la bonne heure, qu`il le fasse; mais s`il ne lui plaît pas d`en user envers toi, j`en userai, moi, l`Éternel est vivant! Reste couchée jusqu`au matin.	Ruth 3:13 Take your rest here tonight; and in the morning, if he will do for you what it is right for a relation to do, very well, let him do so: but if he will not, then by the living Lord I myself will do so.
Ruth 3:14 Elle resta couchée à ses pieds jusqu`au matin, et elle se leva avant qu`on pût se reconnaître l`un l`autre. Boaz dit: Qu`on ne sache pas qu`une femme est entrée dans l`aire.	Ruth 3:14 And she took her rest at his feet till the morning: and she got up before it was light enough for one to see another. And he said, Let it not come to anyone's knowledge that the woman came to the grain-floor.
Ruth 3:15 Et il ajouta: Donne le manteau qui est sur toi, et tiens-le. Elle le tint, et il mesura six mesures d`orge, qu`il chargea sur elle. Puis il rentra dans la ville.	Ruth 3:15 And he said, Take your robe, stretching it out in your hands: and she did so, and he took six measures of grain and put them into it, and gave it her to take: and she went back to the town.
Ruth 3:16 Ruth revint auprès de sa belle-mère, et Naomi dit: Est-ce toi, ma fille? Ruth lui raconta tout ce que cet homme avait fait pour elle.	Ruth 3:16 And when she came back her mother-in-law said to her, How did it go with you, my daughter? And she gave her an account of all the man had done to her.
Ruth 3:17 Elle dit: Il m`a donné ces six mesures d`orge, en disant: Tu ne retourneras pas à vide vers ta belle-mère.	Ruth 3:17 And she said, He gave me these six measures of grain, saying, Do not go back to your mother-in-law with nothing in your hands.
Ruth 3:18 Et Naomi dit: Sois tranquille, ma fille, jusqu`à ce que tu saches comment finira la chose, car cet homme ne se donnera point de repos qu`il n`ait terminé cette affaire aujourd`hui.	Ruth 3:18 Then she said, Do nothing now, my daughter, till you see what will come of this; for the man will take no rest till he has put this thing through.
