Giobbe 22:1 Allora Elifaz di Teman rispose e disse:	Job 22:1 Then answered Eliphaz the Temanite, and said,
Giobbe 22:2 "Può l’uomo recar qualche vantaggio a Dio? No; il savio non reca vantaggio che a sé stesso.	Job 22:2 Can a man be profitable unto God? Surely he that is wise is profitable unto himself.
Giobbe 22:3 Se sei giusto, ne vien forse qualche diletto all’Onnipotente? Se sei integro nella tua condotta, ne ritrae egli un guadagno?	Job 22:3 Is it any pleasure to the Almighty, that thou art righteous? Or is it gain [to him], that thou makest thy ways perfect?
Giobbe 22:4 E’ forse per la paura che ha di te ch’egli ti castiga o vien teco in giudizio?	Job 22:4 Is it for thy fear [of him] that he reproveth thee, That he entereth with thee into judgment?
Giobbe 22:5 La tua malvagità non è essa grande e le tue iniquità non sono esse infinite?	Job 22:5 Is not thy wickedness great? Neither is there any end to thine iniquities.
Giobbe 22:6 Tu, per un nulla, prendevi pegno da’ tuoi fratelli, spogliavi delle lor vesti i mezzo ignudi.	Job 22:6 For thou hast taken pledges of thy brother for nought, And stripped the naked of their clothing.
Giobbe 22:7 Allo stanco non davi a bere dell’acqua, all’affamato rifiutavi del pane.	Job 22:7 Thou hast not given water to the weary to drink, And thou hast withholden bread from the hungry.
Giobbe 22:8 La terra apparteneva al più forte, e l’uomo influente vi piantava la sua dimora.	Job 22:8 But as for the mighty man, he had the earth; And the honorable man, he dwelt in it.
Giobbe 22:9 Rimandavi a vuoto le vedove, e le braccia degli orfani eran spezzate.	Job 22:9 Thou hast sent widows away empty, And the arms of the fatherless have been broken.
Giobbe 22:10 Ecco perché sei circondato di lacci, e spaventato da sùbiti terrori.	Job 22:10 Therefore snares are round about thee, And sudden fear troubleth thee,
Giobbe 22:11 O non vedi le tenebre che t’avvolgono e la piena d’acque che ti sommerge?	Job 22:11 Or darkness, so that thou canst not see, And abundance of waters cover thee.
Giobbe 22:12 Iddio non è egli lassù ne’ cieli? Guarda lassù le stelle eccelse, come stanno in alto!	Job 22:12 Is not God in the height of heaven? And behold the height of the stars, how high they are!
Giobbe 22:13 E tu dici: "Iddio che sa? Può egli giudicare attraverso il buio?	Job 22:13 And thou sayest, What doth God know? Can he judge through the thick darkness?
Giobbe 22:14 Fitte nubi lo coprono e nulla vede; egli passeggia sulla vòlta de’ cieli".	Job 22:14 Thick clouds are a covering to him, so that he seeth not; And he walketh on the vault of heaven.
Giobbe 22:15 Vuoi tu dunque seguir l’antica via per cui camminarono gli uomini iniqui,	Job 22:15 Wilt thou keep the old way Which wicked men have trodden?
Giobbe 22:16 che furon portati via prima del tempo, e il cui fondamento fu come un torrente che scorre?	Job 22:16 Who were snatched away before their time, Whose foundation was poured out as a stream,
Giobbe 22:17 Essi dicevano a Dio: "Ritirati da noi!" e chiedevano che mai potesse far per loro l’Onnipotente.	Job 22:17 Who said unto God, Depart from us; And, What can the Almighty do for us?
Giobbe 22:18 Eppure Iddio avea riempito le loro case di beni! Ah lungi da me il consiglio degli empi!	Job 22:18 Yet he filled their houses with good things: But the counsel of the wicked is far from me.
Giobbe 22:19 I giusti, vedendo la loro ruina, ne gioiscono e l’innocente si fa beffe di loro:	Job 22:19 The righteous see it, and are glad; And the innocent laugh them to scorn,
Giobbe 22:20 "Vedete se non son distrutti gli avversari nostri! la loro abbondanza l’ha divorata il fuoco!"	Job 22:20 [Saying], Surely they that did rise up against us are cut off, And the remnant of them the fire hath consumed.
Giobbe 22:21 Riconciliati dunque con Dio; avrai pace, e ti sarà resa la prosperità.	Job 22:21 Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: Thereby good shall come unto thee.
Giobbe 22:22 Ricevi istruzioni dalla sua bocca, e riponi le sue parole nel tuo cuore.	Job 22:22 Receive, I pray thee, the law from his mouth, And lay up his words in thy heart.
Giobbe 22:23 Se torni all’Onnipotente, se allontani l’iniquità dalle tue tende, sarai ristabilito.	Job 22:23 If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up, If thou put away unrighteousness far from thy tents.
Giobbe 22:24 Getta l’oro nella polvere e l’oro d’Ophir tra i ciottoli del fiume	Job 22:24 And lay thou [thy] treasure in the dust, And [the gold of] Ophir among the stones of the brooks;
Giobbe 22:25 e l’Onnipotente sarà il tuo oro, egli ti sarà come l’argento acquistato con fatica.	Job 22:25 And the Almighty will be thy treasure, And precious silver unto thee.
Giobbe 22:26 Allora farai dell’Onnipotente la tua delizia, e alzerai la faccia verso Dio.	Job 22:26 For then shalt thou delight thyself in the Almighty, And shalt lift up thy face unto God.
Giobbe 22:27 Lo pregherai, egli t’esaudirà, e tu scioglierai i voti che avrai fatto.	Job 22:27 Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he will hear thee; And thou shalt pay thy vows.
Giobbe 22:28 Quello che imprenderai, ti riuscirà; sul tuo cammino risplenderà la luce.	Job 22:28 Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee; And light shall shine upon thy ways.
Giobbe 22:29 Se ti abbassano, tu dirai: "In alto!" e Dio soccorrerà chi ha gli occhi a terra;	Job 22:29 When they cast [thee] down, thou shalt say, [There is] lifting up; And the humble person he will save.
Giobbe 22:30 libererà anche chi non è innocente, ei sarà salvo per la purità delle tue mani".	Job 22:30 He will deliver [even] him that is not innocent: Yea, he shall be delivered through the cleanness of thy hands.
