Giovanni 5	John 5
Giovanni 5:1 Dopo queste cose ci fu una festa de’ Giudei, e Gesù salì a Gerusalemme.	John 5:1 After these things there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
Giovanni 5:2 Or a Gerusalemme, presso la porta delle Pecore, v’è una vasca, chiamata in ebraico Betesda, che ha cinque portici.	John 5:2 Now there is in Jerusalem by the sheep [gate] a pool, which is called in Hebrew Bethesda, having five porches.
Giovanni 5:3 Sotto questi portici giaceva un gran numero d’infermi, di ciechi, di zoppi, di paralitici, i quali aspettavano l’agitarsi dell’acqua;	John 5:3 In these lay a multitude of them that were sick, blind, halt, withered, [waiting for the moving of the water.]
Giovanni 5:4 perché un angelo scendeva nella vasca e metteva l’acqua in movimento; e il primo che vi scendeva dopo che l’acqua era stata agitata, era guarito di qualunque malattia fosse colpito.	John 5:4 [for an angel of the Lord went down at certain seasons into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the waters stepped in was made whole, with whatsoever disease he was holden.]
Giovanni 5:5 E quivi era un uomo, che da trentott’anni era infermo.	John 5:5 And a certain man was there, who had been thirty and eight years in his infirmity.
Giovanni 5:6 Gesù, vedutolo che giaceva e sapendo che già da gran tempo stava così, gli disse: Vuoi esser risanato?	John 5:6 When Jesus saw him lying, and knew that he had been now a long time [in that case], he saith unto him, Wouldest thou be made whole?
Giovanni 5:7 L’infermo gli rispose: Signore, io non ho alcuno che, quando l’acqua è mossa, mi metta nella vasca, e mentre ci vengo io, un altro vi scende prima di me.	John 5:7 The sick man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.
Giovanni 5:8 Gesù gli disse: Lèvati, prendi il tuo lettuccio, e cammina.	John 5:8 Jesus saith unto him, Arise, take up thy bed, and walk.
Giovanni 5:9 E in quell’istante quell’uomo fu risanato; e preso il suo lettuccio, si mise a camminare.	John 5:9 And straightway the man was made whole, and took up his bed and walked. Now it was the sabbath on that day.
Giovanni 5:10 Or quel giorno era un sabato; perciò i Giudei dissero all’uomo guarito: E’ sabato, e non ti è lecito portare il tuo lettuccio.	John 5:10 So the Jews said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath, and it is not lawful for thee to take up thy bed.
Giovanni 5:11 Ma egli rispose loro: E’ colui che m’ha guarito, che m’ha detto: Prendi il tuo lettuccio e cammina.	John 5:11 But he answered them, He that made me whole, the same said unto me, Take up thy bed, and walk.
Giovanni 5:12 Essi gli domandarono: Chi è quell’uomo che t’ha detto: Prendi il tuo lettuccio e cammina?	John 5:12 They asked him, Who is the man that said unto thee, Take up [thy bed], and walk?
Giovanni 5:13 Ma colui ch’era stato guarito non sapeva chi fosse; perché Gesù era scomparso, essendovi in quel luogo molta gente.	John 5:13 But he that was healed knew not who it was; for Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in the place.
Giovanni 5:14 Di poi Gesù lo trovò nel tempio, e gli disse: Ecco, tu sei guarito; non peccar più, che non t’accada di peggio.	John 5:14 Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing befall thee.
Giovanni 5:15 Quell’uomo se ne andò, e disse ai Giudei che Gesù era quel che l’avea risanato.	John 5:15 The man went away, and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had made him whole.
Giovanni 5:16 E per questo i Giudei perseguitavano Gesù e cercavan d’ucciderlo; perché facea quelle cose di sabato.	John 5:16 And for this cause the Jews persecuted Jesus, because he did these things on the sabbath.
Giovanni 5:17 Gesù rispose loro: Il Padre mio opera fino ad ora, ed anche io opero.	John 5:17 But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh even until now, and I work.
Giovanni 5:18 Perciò dunque i Giudei più che mai cercavan d’ucciderlo; perché non soltanto violava il sabato, ma chiamava Dio suo Padre, facendosi uguale a Dio.	John 5:18 For this cause therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only brake the sabbath, but also called God his own Father, making himself equal with God.
Giovanni 5:19 Gesù quindi rispose e disse loro: In verità, in verità io vi dico che il Figliuolo non può da se stesso far cosa alcuna, se non la vede fare dal Padre; perché le cose che il Padre fa, anche il Figlio le fa similmente.	John 5:19 Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father doing: for what things soever he doeth, these the Son also doeth in like manner.
Giovanni 5:20 Poiché il Padre ama il Figliuolo, e gli mostra tutto quello che Egli fa; e gli mostrerà delle opere maggiori di queste, affinché ne restiate maravigliati.	John 5:20 For the Father loveth the Son, and showeth him all things that himself doeth: and greater works than these will he show him, that ye may marvel.
Giovanni 5:21 Difatti, come il Padre risuscita i morti e li vivifica, così anche il Figliuolo vivifica chi vuole.	John 5:21 For as the Father raiseth the dead and giveth them life, even so the Son also giveth life to whom he will.
Giovanni 5:22 Oltre a ciò, il Padre non giudica alcuno, ma ha dato tutto il giudicio al Figliuolo,	John 5:22 For neither doth the Father judge any man, but he hath given all judgment unto the Son;
Giovanni 5:23 affinché tutti onorino il Figliuolo come onorano il Padre. Chi non onora il Figliuolo non onora il Padre che l’ha mandato.	John 5:23 that all may honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He that honoreth not the Son honoreth not the Father that sent him.
Giovanni 5:24 In verità, in verità io vi dico: Chi ascolta la mia parola e crede a Colui che mi ha mandato, ha vita eterna; e non viene in giudizio, ma è passato dalla morte alla vita.	John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth him that sent me, hath eternal life, and cometh not into judgment, but hath passed out of death into life.
Giovanni 5:25 In verità, in verità io vi dico: L’ora viene, anzi è già venuta, che i morti udranno la voce del Figliuol di Dio; e quelli che l’avranno udita, vivranno.	John 5:25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour cometh, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God; and they that hear shall live.
Giovanni 5:26 Perché come il Padre ha vita in se stesso, così ha dato anche al Figliuolo d’aver vita in se stesso;	John 5:26 For as the Father hath life in himself, even so gave he to the Son also to have life in himself:
Giovanni 5:27 e gli ha dato autorità di giudicare, perché è il Figliuol dell’uomo.	John 5:27 and he gave him authority to execute judgment, because he is a son of man.
Giovanni 5:28 Non vi maravigliate di questo; perché l’ora viene in cui tutti quelli che sono nei sepolcri, udranno la sua voce e ne verranno fuori:	John 5:28 Marvel not at this: for the hour cometh, in which all that are in the tombs shall hear his voice,
Giovanni 5:29 quelli che hanno operato bene, in risurrezione di vita; e quelli che hanno operato male, in risurrezion di giudicio.	John 5:29 and shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of judgment.
Giovanni 5:30 Io non posso far nulla da me stesso; come odo, giudico; e il mio giudicio è giusto, perché cerco non la mia propria volontà, ma la volontà di Colui che mi ha mandato.	John 5:30 I can of myself do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is righteous; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
Giovanni 5:31 Se io rendo testimonianza di me stesso, la mia testimonianza non è verace.	John 5:31 If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true.
Giovanni 5:32 V’è un altro che rende testimonianza di me; e io so che la testimonianza ch’egli rende di me, è verace.	John 5:32 It is another that beareth witness of me; and I know that the witness which he witnesseth of me is true.
Giovanni 5:33 Voi avete mandato da Giovanni, ed egli ha reso testimonianza alla verità.	John 5:33 Ye have sent unto John, and he hath borne witness unto the truth.
Giovanni 5:34 Io però la testimonianza non la prendo dall’uomo, ma dico questo affinché voi siate salvati.	John 5:34 But the witness which I receive is not from man: howbeit I say these things, that ye may be saved.
Giovanni 5:35 Egli era la lampada ardente e splendente e voi avete voluto per breve ora godere alla sua luce.	John 5:35 He was the lamp that burneth and shineth; and ye were willing to rejoice for a season in his light.
Giovanni 5:36 Ma io ho una testimonianza maggiore di quella di Giovanni; perché le opere che il Padre mi ha dato a compiere, quelle opere stesse che io fo, testimoniano di me che il Padre mi ha mandato.	John 5:36 But the witness which I have is greater than [that of] John; for the works which the Father hath given me to accomplish, the very works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me.
Giovanni 5:37 E il Padre che mi ha mandato, ha Egli stesso reso testimonianza di me. La sua voce, voi non l’avete mai udita; e il suo sembiante, non l’avete mai veduto;	John 5:37 And the Father that sent me, he hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his form.
Giovanni 5:38 e la sua parola non l’avete dimorante in voi, perché non credete in colui ch’Egli ha mandato.	John 5:38 And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he sent, him ye believe not.
Giovanni 5:39 Voi investigate le Scritture, perché pensate aver per mezzo d’esse vita eterna, ed esse son quelle che rendon testimonianza di me;	John 5:39 Ye search the scriptures, because ye think that in them ye have eternal life; and these are they which bear witness of me;
Giovanni 5:40 eppure non volete venire a me per aver la vita!	John 5:40 and ye will not come to me, that ye may have life.
Giovanni 5:41 Io non prendo gloria dagli uomini;	John 5:41 I receive not glory from men.
Giovanni 5:42 ma vi conosco che non avete l’amor di Dio in voi.	John 5:42 But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in yourselves.
Giovanni 5:43 Io son venuto nel nome del Padre mio, e voi non mi ricevete; se un altro verrà nel suo proprio nome, voi lo riceverete.	John 5:43 I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.
Giovanni 5:44 Come potete credere, voi che prendete gloria gli uni dagli altri e non cercate la gloria che vien da Dio solo?	John 5:44 How can ye believe, who receive glory one of another, and the glory that [cometh] from the only God ye seek not?
Giovanni 5:45 Non crediate che io sia colui che vi accuserà davanti al Padre; v’è chi v’accusa, ed è Mosè, nel quale avete riposta la vostra speranza.	John 5:45 Think not that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, [even] Moses, on whom ye have set your hope.
Giovanni 5:46 Perché se credeste a Mosè, credereste anche a me; poiché egli ha scritto di me.	John 5:46 For if ye believed Moses, ye would believe me; for he wrote of me.
Giovanni 5:47 Ma se non credete agli scritti di lui, come crederete alle mie parole?	John 5:47 But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?
