| Poi entrò di nuovo in una sinagoga; e quivi era un uomo che avea la mano secca. | And he entered again into the synagogue; and there was a man there who had his hand withered. |
| E l’osservavano per vedere se lo guarirebbe in giorno di sabato, per poterlo accusare. | And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the sabbath day; that they might accuse him. |
| Ed egli disse all’uomo che avea la mano secca: Lèvati là nel mezzo! | And he saith unto the man that had his hand withered, Stand forth. |
| Poi disse loro: E’ egli lecito, in giorno di sabato, di far del bene o di far del male? di salvare una persona o di ucciderla? Ma quelli tacevano. | And he saith unto them, Is it lawful on the sabbath day to do good, or to do harm? to save a life, or to kill? But they held their peace. |
| Allora Gesù, guardatili tutt’intorno con indignazione, contristato per l’induramento del cuor loro, disse all’uomo: Stendi la mano! Egli la stese, e la sua mano tornò sana. | And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved at the hardening of their heart, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thy hand. And he stretched it forth; and his hand was restored. |
| E i Farisei, usciti, tennero subito consiglio con gli Erodiani contro di lui, con lo scopo di farlo morire. | And the Pharisees went out, and straightway with the Herodians took counsel against him, how they might destroy him. |
| Poi Gesù co’ suoi discepoli si ritirò verso il mare; e dalla Galilea gran moltitudine lo seguitò; | And Jesus with his disciples withdrew to the sea: and a great multitude from Galilee followed; and from Judaea, |
| e dalla Giudea e da Gerusalemme e dalla Idumea e da oltre il Giordano e dai dintorni di Tiro e di Sidone una gran folla, udendo quante cose egli facea, venne a lui. | and from Jerusalem, and from Idumaea, and beyond the Jordan, and about Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude, hearing what great things he did, came unto him. |
| Ed egli disse ai suoi discepoli che gli tenessero sempre pronta una barchetta a motivo della calca, che talora non l’affollasse. | And he spake to his disciples, that a little boat should wait on him because of the crowd, lest they should throng him: |
| Perché egli ne aveva guariti molti; cosicché tutti quelli che aveano qualche flagello gli si precipitavano addosso per toccarlo. | for he had healed many; insomuch that as many as had plagues pressed upon him that they might touch him. |
| E gli spiriti immondi, quando lo vedevano, si gittavano davanti a lui e gridavano: Tu sei il Figliuol di Dio! | And the unclean spirits, whensoever they beheld him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God. |
| Ed egli li sgridava forte, affinché non facessero conoscere chi egli era. | And he charged them much that they should not make him known. |
| Poi Gesù salì sul monte e chiamò a sé quei ch’egli stesso volle, ed essi andarono a lui. | And he goeth up into the mountain, and calleth unto him whom he himself would; and they went unto him. |
| E ne costituì dodici per tenerli con sé | And he appointed twelve, that they might be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach, |
| e per mandarli a predicare con la potestà di cacciare i demoni. | and to have authority to cast out demons: |
| Costituì dunque i dodici, cioè: Simone, al quale mise nome Pietro; | and Simon he surnamed Peter; |
| e Giacomo di Zebedeo e Giovanni fratello di Giacomo, ai quali pose nome Boanerges, che vuol dire figliuoli del tuono; | and James the [son] of Zebedee, and John the brother of James; and them he surnamed Boanerges, which is, Sons of thunder: |
| e Andrea e Filippo e Bartolomeo e Matteo e Toma e Giacomo di Alfeo e Taddeo e Simone il Cananeo | and Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the [son] of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Cananaean, |
| e Giuda Iscariot quello che poi lo tradì. | and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him. And he cometh into a house. |
| Poi entrò in una casa, e la moltitudine si adunò di nuovo, talché egli ed i suoi non potevan neppur prender cibo. | And the multitude cometh together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread. |
| or i suoi parenti, udito ciò, vennero per impadronirsi di lui, perché dicevano: | And when his friends heard it, they went out to lay hold on him: for they said, He is beside himself. |
| E’ fuori di sé. E gli scribi, ch’eran discesi da Gerusalemme, dicevano: Egli ha Beelzebub, ed è per l’aiuto del principe dei demoni, ch’ei caccia i demoni. | And the scribes that came down from Jerusalem said, He hath Beelzebub, and, By the prince of the demons casteth he out the demons. |
| Ma egli, chiamatili a sé, diceva loro in parabole: Come può Satana cacciar Satana? | And he called them unto him, and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan? |
| E se un regno è diviso in parti contrarie, quel regno non può durare. | And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. |
| E se una casa è divisa in parti contrarie, quella casa non potrà reggere. | And if a house be divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand. |
| E se Satana insorge contro se stesso ed è diviso, non può reggere, ma deve finire. | And if Satan hath rise up against himself, and is divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end. |
| Ed anzi niuno può entrar nella casa dell’uomo forte e rapirgli le sue masserizie, se prima non abbia legato l’uomo forte; allora soltanto gli prenderà la casa. | But no one can enter into the house of the strong [man], and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong [man]; and then he will spoil his house. |
| In verità io vi dico: Ai figliuoli degli uomini saranno rimessi tutti i peccati e qualunque bestemmia avranno proferita; | Verily I say unto you, All their sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and their blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme: |
| ma chiunque avrà bestemmiato contro lo Spirito Santo, non ha remissione in eterno, ma è reo d’un peccato eterno. | but whosoever shall blaspheme against the Holy Spirit hath never forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin: |
| Or egli parlava così perché dicevano: Ha uno spirito immondo. | because they said, He hath an unclean spirit. |
| E giunsero sua madre ed i suoi fratelli; e fermatisi fuori, lo mandarono a chiamare. | And there come his mother and his brethren; and, standing without, they sent unto him, calling him. |
| Una moltitudine gli stava seduta attorno, quando gli fu detto: Ecco tua madre, i tuoi fratelli e le tue sorelle là fuori che ti cercano. | And a multitude was sitting about him; and they say unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren without seek for thee. |
| Ed egli rispose loro: Chi è mia madre? e chi sono i miei fratelli? | And he answereth them, and saith, Who is my mother and my brethren? |
| E guardati in giro coloro che gli sedevano d’intorno, disse: Ecco mia madre e i miei fratelli! | And looking round on them that sat round about him, he saith, Behold, my mother and my brethren! |
| Chiunque avrà fatta la volontà di Dio, mi è fratello, sorella e madre. | For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother. |
