Deuteronomio 1:1 Queste sono le parole che Mosè rivolse a Israele di là dal Giordano, nel deserto, nella pianura dirimpetto a Suf, fra Paran, Tofel, Laban, Hatseroth e Di-Zahab.	Deuteronomy 1:1 These are the words which Moses said to all Israel on the far side of Jordan, in the waste land in the Arabah opposite Suph, between Paran on the one side, and Tophel, Laban, Hazeroth, and Dizahab on the other.
Deuteronomio 1:2 (Vi sono undici giornate dallo Horeb, per la via del monte Seir, fino a Kades-Barnea).	Deuteronomy 1:2 It is eleven days' journey from Horeb by the way of Mount Seir to Kadesh-barnea.
Deuteronomio 1:3 Il quarantesimo anno, l’undecimo mese, il primo giorno del mese, Mosè parlò ai figliuoli d’Israele, secondo tutto quello che l’Eterno gli aveva ordinato di dir loro.	Deuteronomy 1:3 Now in the fortieth year, on the first day of the eleventh month, Moses gave to the children of Israel all the orders which the Lord had given him for them;
Deuteronomio 1:4 Questo avvenne dopo ch’egli ebbe sconfitto Sihon, re degli Amorei che abitava in Heshbon, e Og, re di Basan che abitava in Astaroth e in Edrei.	Deuteronomy 1:4 After he had overcome Sihon, king of the Amorites, ruling in Heshbon, and Og, king of Bashan, ruling in Ashtaroth, at Edrei:
Deuteronomio 1:5 Di là dal Giordano, nel paese di Moab, Mosè cominciò a spiegare questa legge, dicendo:	Deuteronomy 1:5 On the far side of Jordan in the land of Moab, Moses gave the people this law, saying,
Deuteronomio 1:6 L’Eterno, l’Iddio nostro, ci parlò in Horeb e ci disse: "Voi avete dimorato abbastanza in queste montagne;	Deuteronomy 1:6 The Lord our God said to us in Horeb, You have been long enough in this mountain:
Deuteronomio 1:7 voltatevi, partite e andate nella contrada montuosa degli Amorei e in tutte le vicinanze, nella pianura, sui monti, nella regione bassa, nel mezzogiorno, sulla costa del mare, nel paese dei Cananei ed al Libano, fino al gran fiume, il fiume Eufrate.	Deuteronomy 1:7 Make a move now, and go on your way into the hill-country of the Amorites and the places near it, in the Arabah and the hill-country and in the lowlands and in the South and by the seaside, all the land of the Canaanites, and Lebanon, as far as the great river, the river Euphrates.
Deuteronomio 1:8 Ecco, io v’ho posto il paese dinanzi; entrate, prendete possesso del paese che l’Eterno giurò di dare ai vostri padri, Abrahamo, Isacco e Giacobbe, e alla loro progenie dopo di loro".	Deuteronomy 1:8 See, all the land is before you: go in and take for yourselves the land which the Lord gave by an oath to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and to their seed after them.
Deuteronomio 1:9 In quel tempo io vi parlai e vi dissi: "Io non posso da solo sostenere il carico del popolo.	Deuteronomy 1:9 At that time I said to you, I am not able to undertake the care of you by myself;
Deuteronomio 1:10 L’Eterno, ch’è il vostro Dio, vi ha moltiplicati, ed ecco che oggi siete numerosi come le stelle del cielo.	Deuteronomy 1:10 The Lord your God has given you increase, and now you are like the stars of heaven in number.
Deuteronomio 1:11 L’Eterno, l’Iddio de’ vostri padri vi aumenti anche mille volte di più, e vi benedica come vi ha promesso di fare!	Deuteronomy 1:11 May the Lord, the God of your fathers, make you a thousand times greater in number than you are, and give you his blessing as he has said!
Deuteronomio 1:12 Ma come posso io, da solo, portare il vostro carico, il vostro peso e le vostre liti?	Deuteronomy 1:12 How is it possible for me by myself to be responsible for you, and undertake the weight of all your troubles and your arguments?
Deuteronomio 1:13 Prendete nelle vostre tribù degli uomini savi, intelligenti e conosciuti, e io ve li stabilirò come capi".	Deuteronomy 1:13 Take for yourselves men who are wise, far-seeing, and respected among you, from your tribes, and I will make them rulers over you.
Deuteronomio 1:14 E voi mi rispondeste, dicendo: "E’ bene che facciamo quel che tu proponi".	Deuteronomy 1:14 And you made answer and said to me, It is good for us to do as you say.
Deuteronomio 1:15 Allora presi i capi delle vostre tribù, uomini savi e conosciuti, e li stabilii sopra voi come capi di migliaia, capi di centinaia, capi di cinquantine, capi di diecine, e come ufficiali nelle vostre tribù.	Deuteronomy 1:15 So I took the heads of your tribes, wise men and respected, and made them rulers over you, captains of thousands and captains of hundreds and captains of fifties and captains of tens, and overseers of your tribes.
Deuteronomio 1:16 E in quel tempo detti quest’ordine ai vostri giudici: "Ascoltate le cause de’ vostri fratelli, e giudicate con giustizia le questioni che uno può avere col fratello o con lo straniero che sta da lui.	Deuteronomy 1:16 And at that time I gave orders to your judges, saying, Let all questions between your brothers come before you for hearing, and give decisions uprightly between a man and his brother or one from another nation who is with him.
Deuteronomio 1:17 Nei vostri giudizi non avrete riguardi personali; darete ascolto al piccolo come al grande; non temerete alcun uomo, poiché il giudicio appartiene a Dio; e le cause troppo difficili per voi le recherete a me, e io le udirò".	Deuteronomy 1:17 In judging, do not let a man's position have any weight with you; give hearing equally to small and great; have no fear of any man, for it is God who is judge: and any cause in which you are not able to give a decision, you are to put before me and I will give it a hearing.
Deuteronomio 1:18 Così, in quel tempo, io vi ordinai tutte le cose che dovevate fare.	Deuteronomy 1:18 And at that time I gave you all the orders which you were to do.
Deuteronomio 1:19 Poi partimmo dallo Horeb e attraversammo tutto quel grande e spaventevole deserto che avete veduto, dirigendoci verso la contrada montuosa degli Amorei, come l’Eterno, l’Iddio nostro, ci aveva ordinato di fare, e giungemmo a Kades-Barnea.	Deuteronomy 1:19 Then we went on from Horeb, through all that great and cruel waste which you saw, on our way to the hill-country of the Amorites, as the Lord gave us orders; and we came to Kadesh-barnea.
Deuteronomio 1:20 Allora vi dissi: Siete arrivati alla contrada montuosa degli Amorei, che l’Eterno, l’Iddio nostro, ci dà.	Deuteronomy 1:20 And I said to you, You have come to the hill-country of the Amorites, which the Lord our God is giving us.
Deuteronomio 1:21 Ecco, l’Eterno, il tuo Dio, t’ha posto il paese dinanzi; sali, prendine possesso, come l’Eterno, l’Iddio de’ tuoi padri, t’ha detto; non temere, e non ti spaventare".	Deuteronomy 1:21 See now, the Lord your God has put the land into your hands: go up and take it, as the Lord, the God of your fathers, has said to you; have no fear and do not be troubled.
Deuteronomio 1:22 E voi vi accostaste a me tutti quanti, e diceste: "Mandiamo degli uomini davanti a noi, che ci esplorino il paese, e ci riferiscano qualcosa del cammino per il quale noi dovremo salire, e delle città alle quali dovremo arrivare".	Deuteronomy 1:22 And you came near to me, every one of you, and said, Let us send men before us to go through the land with care and give us an account of the way we are to go and the towns to which we will come.
Deuteronomio 1:23 La cosa mi piacque, e presi dodici uomini tra voi, uno per tribù.	Deuteronomy 1:23 And what you said seemed good to me, and I took twelve men from among you, one from every tribe;
Deuteronomio 1:24 Quelli s’incamminarono, salirono verso i monti, giunsero alla valle d’Eshcol, ed esplorarono il paese.	Deuteronomy 1:24 And they went up into the hill-country and came to the valley of Eshcol, and saw what was there.
Deuteronomio 1:25 Presero con le loro mani de’ frutti del paese, ce li portarono, e ci fecero la loro relazione dicendo: "Quello che l’Eterno, il nostro Dio, ci dà, è un buon paese".	Deuteronomy 1:25 And taking in their hands some of the fruit of the land, they came down again to us, and gave us their account, saying, It is a good land which the Lord our God is giving us.
Deuteronomio 1:26 Ma voi non voleste salirvi, e vi ribellaste all’ordine dell’Eterno, del vostro Dio;	Deuteronomy 1:26 But going against the order of the Lord your God, you would not go up:
Deuteronomio 1:27 mormoraste nelle vostre tende, e diceste: "L’Eterno ci odia, per questo ci ha fatti uscire dal paese d’Egitto per darci in mano agli Amorei e per distruggerci.	Deuteronomy 1:27 And you made an angry outcry in your tents, and said, In his hate for us the Lord has taken us out of the land of Egypt, to give us up into the hands of the Amorites for our destruction.
Deuteronomio 1:28 Dove saliam noi? I nostri fratelli ci han fatto struggere il cuore, dicendo: Quella gente è più grande e più alta di noi; le città vi sono grandi e fortificate fino al cielo; e abbiam perfino visto colà de’ figliuoli degli Anakim".	Deuteronomy 1:28 Where are we going up? Our brothers have made our hearts feeble with fear by saying, The people are greater and taller than we are, and the towns are great and walled up to heaven; and more than this, we have seen the sons of the Anakim there.
Deuteronomio 1:29 E io vi dissi: "Non vi sgomentate, e non abbiate paura di loro.	Deuteronomy 1:29 Then I said to you, Have no fear of them.
Deuteronomio 1:30 L’Eterno, l’Iddio vostro che va davanti a voi, combatterà egli stesso per voi, come ha fatto tante volte sotto gli occhi vostri, in Egitto,	Deuteronomy 1:30 The Lord your God who goes before you will be fighting for you, and will do such wonders as he did for you in Egypt before your eyes;
Deuteronomio 1:31 e nel deserto, dove hai veduto come l’Eterno, il tuo Dio, ti ha portato come un uomo porta il suo figliuolo, per tutto il cammino che avete fatto, finché siete arrivati a questo luogo".	Deuteronomy 1:31 And in the waste land, where you have seen how the Lord was supporting you, as a man does his son, in all your journeying till you came to this place.
Deuteronomio 1:32 Nonostante questo non aveste fiducia nell’Eterno, nell’Iddio vostro,	Deuteronomy 1:32 But for all this, you had no faith in the Lord your God,
Deuteronomio 1:33 che andava innanzi a voi nel cammino per cercarvi un luogo da piantar le tende: di notte, nel fuoco per mostrarvi la via per la quale dovevate andare, e, di giorno, nella nuvola.	Deuteronomy 1:33 Who goes before you on your way, looking for a place where you may put up your tents, in fire by night, lighting up the way you are to go, and in a cloud by day.
Deuteronomio 1:34 E l’Eterno udì le vostre parole, si adirò gravemente, e giurò dicendo:	Deuteronomy 1:34 And the Lord, hearing your words, was angry, and said with an oath,
Deuteronomio 1:35 "Certo, nessuno degli uomini di questa malvagia generazione vedrà il buon paese che ho giurato di dare ai vostri padri,	Deuteronomy 1:35 Truly, not one of this evil generation will see that good land which I said I would give to your fathers,
Deuteronomio 1:36 salvo Caleb, figliuolo di Gefunne. Egli lo vedrà; e a lui e ai suoi figliuoli darò la terra che egli ha calcato, perché ha pienamente seguito l’Eterno".	Deuteronomy 1:36 But only Caleb, the son of Jephunneh, he will see it; and to him and to his children I will give the land over which his feet have gone, because he has been true to the Lord with all his heart.
Deuteronomio 1:37 Anche contro a me l’Eterno si adirò per via di voi, e disse: "Neanche tu v’entrerai;	Deuteronomy 1:37 And, in addition, the Lord was angry with me because of you, saying, You yourself will not go into it:
Deuteronomio 1:38 Giosuè, figliuolo di Nun, che ti serve, v’entrerà; fortificalo, perch’egli metterà Israele in possesso di questo paese.	Deuteronomy 1:38 Joshua, the son of Nun, your servant, he will go into the land: say to him that he is to be strong, for he will be Israel's guide into their heritage.
Deuteronomio 1:39 E i vostri fanciulli, de’ quali avete detto: Diventeranno tanta preda! e i vostri figliuoli, che oggi non conoscono né il bene né il male, sono quelli che v’entreranno; a loro lo darò, e saranno essi che lo possederanno.	Deuteronomy 1:39 And your little ones, who, you said, would come into strange hands, your children, who now have no knowledge of good or evil, they will go into that land, and to them I will give it and it will be theirs.
Deuteronomio 1:40 Ma voi, tornate indietro e avviatevi verso il deserto, in direzione del mar Rosso".	Deuteronomy 1:40 But as for you, go back, journeying into the waste land by the way of the Red Sea.
Deuteronomio 1:41 Allora voi rispondeste, dicendomi: "Abbiam peccato contro l’Eterno; noi saliremo e combatteremo, interamente come l’Eterno, l’Iddio nostro, ci ha ordinato". E ognun di voi cinse le armi, e vi metteste temerariamente a salire verso i monti.	Deuteronomy 1:41 Then you said to me, We have done evil against the Lord, we will go up to the attack, as the Lord our God has given us orders. And arming yourselves every one, you made ready to go up without care into the hill-country.
Deuteronomio 1:42 E l’Eterno mi disse: "Di’ loro: Non salite, e non combattete, perché io non sono in mezzo a voi; voi sareste sconfitti davanti ai vostri nemici".	Deuteronomy 1:42 And the Lord said to me, Say to them, Do not go up to the attack; for I am not among you, and you will be overcome by those who are against you.
Deuteronomio 1:43 Io ve lo dissi, ma voi non mi deste ascolto; anzi foste ribelli all’ordine dell’Eterno, foste presuntuosi, e vi metteste a salire verso i monti.	Deuteronomy 1:43 This I said to you, but you gave no attention and went against the orders of the Lord, and in your pride went up into the hill-country.
Deuteronomio 1:44 Allora gli Amorei, che abitano quella contrada montuosa, uscirono contro a voi, v’inseguirono come fanno le api, e vi batterono in Seir fino a Horma.	Deuteronomy 1:44 And the Amorites who were in the hill-country came out against you and put you to flight, rushing after you like bees, and overcame you in Seir, driving you even as far as Hormah.
Deuteronomio 1:45 E voi tornaste e piangeste davanti all’Eterno; ma l’Eterno non dette ascolto alla vostra voce e non vi porse orecchio.	Deuteronomy 1:45 And you came back, weeping before the Lord; but the Lord gave no attention to your cries and did not give ear to you.
Deuteronomio 1:46 Così rimaneste in Kades molti giorni; e ben sapete quanti giorni vi siete rimasti.	Deuteronomy 1:46 So you were kept waiting in Kadesh for a long time.
