Ecclesiaste 1:1 Parole dell’Ecclesiaste, figliuolo di Davide, re di Gerusalemme.	Ecclesiastes 1:1 The words of the Preacher, the son of David, king in Jerusalem.
Ecclesiaste 1:2 Vanità delle vanità, dice l’Ecclesiaste;	Ecclesiastes 1:2 All is to no purpose, said the Preacher, all the ways of man are to no purpose.
Ecclesiaste 1:3 vanità delle vanità; tutto è vanità. Che profitto ha l’uomo di tutta la fatica che dura sotto il sole?	Ecclesiastes 1:3 What is a man profited by all his work which he does under the sun?
Ecclesiaste 1:4 Una generazione se ne va, un’altra viene, e la terra sussiste in perpetuo.	Ecclesiastes 1:4 One generation goes and another comes; but the earth is for ever.
Ecclesiaste 1:5 Anche il sole si leva, poi tramonta, e s’affretta verso il luogo donde si leva di nuovo.	Ecclesiastes 1:5 The sun comes up and the sun goes down, and goes quickly back to the place where he came up.
Ecclesiaste 1:6 Il vento soffia verso il mezzogiorno, poi gira verso settentrione; va girando, girando continuamente, per ricominciare gli stessi giri.	Ecclesiastes 1:6 The wind goes to the south, turning back again to the north; circling round for ever.
Ecclesiaste 1:7 Tutti i fiumi corrono al mare, eppure il mare non s’empie; al luogo dove i fiumi si dirigono, tornano a dirigersi sempre.	Ecclesiastes 1:7 All the rivers go down to the sea, but the sea is not full; to the place where the rivers go, there they go again.
Ecclesiaste 1:8 Ogni cosa è in travaglio, più di quel che l’uomo possa dire; l’occhio non si sazia mai di vedere, e l’orecchio non è mai stanco d’udire.	Ecclesiastes 1:8 All things are full of weariness; man may not give their story: the eye has never enough of its seeing, or the ear of its hearing.
Ecclesiaste 1:9 Quello ch’è stato è quel che sarà; quel che s’è fatto è quel che si farà; non v’è nulla di nuovo sotto il sole.	Ecclesiastes 1:9 That which has been, is that which is to be, and that which has been done, is that which will be done, and there is no new thing under the sun.
Ecclesiaste 1:10 V’ha egli qualcosa della quale si dica: "Guarda questo è nuovo?" Quella cosa esisteva già nei secoli che ci hanno preceduto.	Ecclesiastes 1:10 Is there anything of which men say, See, this is new? It has been in the old time which was before us.
Ecclesiaste 1:11 Non rimane memoria delle cose d’altri tempi; e di quel che succederà in seguito non rimarrà memoria fra quelli che verranno più tardi.	Ecclesiastes 1:11 There is no memory of those who have gone before, and of those who come after there will be no memory for those who are still to come after them.
Ecclesiaste 1:12 Io, l’Ecclesiaste, sono stato re d’Israele a Gerusalemme,	Ecclesiastes 1:12 I, the Preacher, was king over Israel in Jerusalem.
Ecclesiaste 1:13 ed ho applicato il cuore a cercare e ad investigare con sapienza tutto ciò che si fa sotto il cielo: occupazione penosa, che Dio ha data ai figliuoli degli uomini perché vi si affatichino.	Ecclesiastes 1:13 And I gave my heart to searching out in wisdom all things which are done under heaven: it is a hard thing which God has put on the sons of men to do.
Ecclesiaste 1:14 Io ho veduto tutto ciò che si fa sotto il sole: ed ecco tutto è vanità e un correr dietro al vento.	Ecclesiastes 1:14 I have seen all the works which are done under the sun; all is to no purpose, and desire for wind.
Ecclesiaste 1:15 Ciò che è storto non può essere raddrizzato, ciò che manca non può esser contato.	Ecclesiastes 1:15 That which is bent may not be made straight, and that which is not there may not be numbered.
Ecclesiaste 1:16 Io ho detto, parlando in cuor mio: "Ecco io ho acquistato maggior sapienza di tutti quelli che hanno regnato prima di me in Gerusalemme"; sì, il mio cuore ha posseduto molta sapienza e molta scienza.	Ecclesiastes 1:16 I said to my heart, See, I have become great and am increased in wisdom more than any who were before me in Jerusalem--yes, my heart has seen much wisdom and knowledge.
Ecclesiaste 1:17 Ed ho applicato il cuore a conoscer la sapienza, e a conoscere la follia e la stoltezza, ed ho riconosciuto che anche questo è un correr dietro al vento.	Ecclesiastes 1:17 And I gave my heart to getting knowledge of wisdom, and of the ways of the foolish. And I saw that this again was desire for wind.
Ecclesiaste 1:18 Poiché dov’è molta sapienza v’è molto affanno, e chi accresce la sua scienza accresce il suo dolore.	Ecclesiastes 1:18 Because in much wisdom is much grief, and increase of knowledge is increase of sorrow.
