Geremia 2:1 La parola dell’Eterno mi fu ancora rivolta, dicendo: Va’, e grida agli orecchi di Gerusalemme:	Jeremiah 2:1 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
Geremia 2:2 Così dice l’Eterno: Io mi ricordo dell’affezione che avevi per me quand’eri giovane, del tuo amore quand’eri fidanzata, allorché tu mi seguivi nel deserto, in una terra non seminata.	Jeremiah 2:2 Go and say in the ears of Jerusalem, The Lord says, I still keep the memory of your kind heart when you were young, and your love when you became my bride; how you went after me in the waste of sand, in an unplanted land.
Geremia 2:3 Israele era consacrato all’Eterno, le primizie della sua rendita; tutti quelli che lo divoravano si rendevan colpevoli, e la calamità piombava su loro, dice l’Eterno.	Jeremiah 2:3 Israel was holy to the Lord, the first-fruits of his increase: all who made attacks on him were judged as wrongdoers, evil came on them, says the Lord.
Geremia 2:4 Ascoltate la parola dell’Eterno, o casa di Giacobbe, e voi tutte le famiglie della casa d’Israele!	Jeremiah 2:4 Give ear to the words of the Lord, O sons of Jacob and all the families of Israel:
Geremia 2:5 Così parla l’Eterno: Quale iniquità hanno trovata i vostri padri in me, che si sono allontanati da me, e sono andati dietro alla vanità, e son diventati essi stessi vanità?	Jeremiah 2:5 These are the words of the Lord: What evil have your fathers seen in me that they have gone far from me, and, walking after what is false, have become false?
Geremia 2:6 Essi non hanno detto: "Dov’è l’Eterno che ci ha tratti fuori dal paese d’Egitto, che ci ha menati per il deserto, per un paese di solitudine e di crepacci, per un paese d’aridità e d’ombra di morte, per un paese per il quale nessuno passò mai e dove non abitò mai nessuno?"	Jeremiah 2:6 And they never said, Where is the Lord, who took us up out of the land of Egypt; who was our guide through the waste of sand, through an unplanted land full of deep holes, through a dry land of deep shade, which no one went through and where no man was living?
Geremia 2:7 E io v’ho condotti in un paese ch’è un frutteto, perché ne mangiaste i frutti ed i buoni prodotti; ma voi, quando vi siete entrati, avete contaminato il mio paese e avete fatto della mia eredità un’abominazione.	Jeremiah 2:7 And I took you into a fertile land, where you were living on its fruit and its wealth; but when you came in, you made my land unclean, and made my heritage a disgusting thing.
Geremia 2:8 I sacerdoti non hanno detto: "Dov’è l’Eterno?" i depositari della legge non m’hanno conosciuto, i pastori mi sono stati infedeli, i profeti hanno profetato nel nome di Baal, e sono andati dietro a cose che non giovano a nulla.	Jeremiah 2:8 The priests did not say, Where is the Lord? and those who were expert in the law had no knowledge of me: and the rulers did evil against me, and the prophets became prophets of the Baal, going after things without value.
Geremia 2:9 Perciò io contenderò ancora in giudizio con voi, dice l’Eterno, e contenderò coi figliuoli de’ vostri figliuoli.	Jeremiah 2:9 For this reason, I will again put forward my cause against you, says the Lord, even against you and against your children's children.
Geremia 2:10 Passate dunque nelle isole di Kittim, e guardate! Mandate a Kedar e osservate bene, e guardate se avvenne mai qualcosa di simile!	Jeremiah 2:10 For go over to the sea-lands of Kittim and see; send to Kedar and give deep thought to it; and see if there has ever been such a thing.
Geremia 2:11 V’ha egli una nazione che abbia cambiato i suoi dèi, quantunque non siano dèi? Ma il mio popolo ha cambiato la sua gloria per ciò che non giova a nulla.	Jeremiah 2:11 Has any nation ever made a change in their gods, though they are no gods? but my people have given up their glory in exchange for what is of no profit.
Geremia 2:12 O cieli, stupite di questo; inorridite e restate attoniti, dice l’Eterno.	Jeremiah 2:12 Be full of wonder, O heavens, at this; be overcome with fear, be completely waste, says the Lord.
Geremia 2:13 Poiché il mio popolo ha commesso due mali: ha abbandonato me, la sorgente d’acqua viva, e s’è scavato delle cisterne, delle cisterne screpolate, che non tengono l’acqua.	Jeremiah 2:13 For my people have done two evils; they have given up me, the fountain of living waters, and have made for themselves water-holes, cut out from the rock, broken water-holes, of no use for storing water.
Geremia 2:14 Israele è egli uno schiavo? è egli uno schiavo nato in casa? Perché dunque è egli diventato una preda?	Jeremiah 2:14 Is Israel a servant? has he been a house-servant from birth? why has he been made waste?
Geremia 2:15 I leoncelli ruggono contro di lui, e fanno udire la loro voce, e riducono il suo paese in una desolazione; le sue città sono arse, e non vi son più abitanti.	Jeremiah 2:15 The young lions have made an outcry against him with a loud voice: they have made his land waste; his towns are burned up, with no one living in them.
Geremia 2:16 Perfino gli abitanti di Nof e di Tahpanes ti divorano il cranio.	Jeremiah 2:16 Even the children of Noph and Tahpanhes have put shame on you.
Geremia 2:17 Tutto questo non ti succede egli perché hai abbandonato l’Eterno, il tuo Dio, mentr’egli ti menava per la buona via?	Jeremiah 2:17 Has not this come on you because you have given up the Lord your God, who was your guide by the way?
Geremia 2:18 E ora, che hai tu da fare sulla via che mena in Egitto per andare a bere l’acqua del Nilo? o che hai tu da fare sulla via che mena in Assiria per andare a bere l’acqua del fiume?	Jeremiah 2:18 And now, what have you to do on the way to Egypt, to get your drink from the waters of the Nile? or what have you to do on the way to Assyria, to get your drink from the waters of the River?
Geremia 2:19 La tua propria malvagità è quella che ti castiga, e le tue infedeltà sono la tua punizione. Sappi dunque e vedi che mala ed amara cosa è abbandonare l’Eterno, il tuo Dio, e il non aver di me alcun timore, dice il Signore, l’Eterno degli eserciti.	Jeremiah 2:19 The evil you yourselves have done will be your punishment, your errors will be your judge: be certain then, and see that it is an evil and a bitter thing to give up the Lord your God, and no longer to be moved by fear of me, says the Lord, the Lord of armies.
Geremia 2:20 Già da lungo tempo tu hai spezzato il tuo giogo, rotti i tuoi legami e hai detto: "Non voglio più servire!" Ma sopra ogni alto colle e sotto ogni albero verdeggiante ti sei buttata giù come una prostituta.	Jeremiah 2:20 For in the past, your yoke was broken by your hands and your cords parted; and you said, I will not be your servant; for on every high hill and under every branching tree, your behaviour was like that of a loose woman
Geremia 2:21 Eppure, io t’avevo piantato come una nobile vigna tutta del miglior ceppo; come dunque mi ti sei mutato in rampolli degenerati di una vigna straniera?	Jeremiah 2:21 But when you were planted by me, you were a noble vine, in every way a true seed: how then have you been changed into the branching plant of a strange vine?
Geremia 2:22 Quand’anche tu ti lavassi col nitro e usassi molto sapone, la tua iniquità lascerebbe una macchia dinanzi a me, dice il Signore, l’Eterno.	Jeremiah 2:22 For even if you are washed with soda and take much soap, still your evil-doing is marked before me, says the Lord God.
Geremia 2:23 Come puoi tu dire: "Io non mi son contaminata, non sono andata dietro ai Baal?" Guarda i tuoi passi nella valle, riconosci quello che hai fatto, dromedaria leggera e vagabonda!	Jeremiah 2:23 How are you able to say, I am not unclean, I have not gone after the Baals? see your way in the valley, be clear about what you have done: you are a quick-footed camel twisting her way in and out;
Geremia 2:24 Asina salvatica, avvezza al deserto, che aspira l’aria nell’ardore della sua passione, chi le impedirà di soddisfare la sua brama? Tutti quelli che la cercano non hanno da affaticarsi; la trovano nel suo mese.	Jeremiah 2:24 An untrained ass, used to the waste land, breathing up the wind in her desire; at her time, who is able to send her away? all those who are looking for her will have no need to make themselves tired; in her month they will get her.
Geremia 2:25 Guarda che il tuo piede non si scalzi e che la tua gola non s’inaridisca! Ma tu hai detto: "Non c’è rimedio; no, io amo gli stranieri, e andrò dietro a loro!"	Jeremiah 2:25 Do not let your foot be without shoes, or your throat dry from need of water: but you said, There is no hope: no, for I have been a lover of strange gods, and after them I will go.
Geremia 2:26 Come il ladro è confuso quand’è còlto sul fatto, così son confusi quelli della casa d’Israele: essi, i loro re, i loro capi, i loro sacerdoti e i loro profeti,	Jeremiah 2:26 As the thief is shamed when he is taken, so is Israel shamed; they, their kings and their rulers, their priests and their prophets;
Geremia 2:27 i quali dicono al legno: "Tu sei mio padre", e alla pietra: "Tu ci hai dato la vita!" Poich’essi m’han voltato le spalle e non la faccia; ma nel tempo della loro sventura dicono: "Lèvati e salvaci!"	Jeremiah 2:27 Who say to a tree, You are my father; and to a stone, You have given me life: for their backs have been turned to me, not their faces: but in the time of their trouble they will say, Up! and be our saviour.
Geremia 2:28 E dove sono i tuoi dèi che ti sei fatti? Si levino, se ti posson salvare nel tempo della tua sventura! Perché, o Giuda, tu hai tanti dèi quante città.	Jeremiah 2:28 But where are the gods you have made for yourselves? let them come, if they are able to give you salvation in the time of your trouble: for the number of your gods is as the number of your towns, O Judah.
Geremia 2:29 Perché contendereste meco? Voi tutti mi siete stati infedeli, dice l’Eterno.	Jeremiah 2:29 Why will you put forward your cause against me? You have all done evil against me, says the Lord.
Geremia 2:30 Invano ho colpito i vostri figliuoli; non ne hanno ricevuto correzione; la vostra spada ha divorato i vostri profeti, come un leone distruttore.	Jeremiah 2:30 I gave your children blows to no purpose; they got no good from training: your sword has been the destruction of your prophets, like a death-giving lion.
Geremia 2:31 O generazione, considera la parola dell’Eterno! Son io stato un deserto per Israele? o un paese di fitte tenebre? Perché dice il mio popolo: "Noi siamo liberi, non vogliamo tornar più a te?"	Jeremiah 2:31 O generation, see the word of the Lord. Have I been a waste land to Israel? or a land of dark night? why do my people say, We have got loose, we will not come to you again?
Geremia 2:32 La fanciulla può essa dimenticare i suoi ornamenti, o la sposa la sua cintura? Eppure, il mio popolo ha dimenticato me, da giorni innumerevoli.	Jeremiah 2:32 Is it possible for a virgin to put out of her memory her ornaments, or a bride her robes? but my people have put me out of their memories for unnumbered days.
Geremia 2:33 Come sei brava a trovar la via per correr dietro ai tuoi amori! Perfino alle male femmine hai insegnato i tuoi modi!	Jeremiah 2:33 With what care are your ways ordered when you are looking for love! so ... your ways.
Geremia 2:34 Fino nei lembi della tua veste si trova il sangue di poveri innocenti, che tu non hai còlto in flagrante delitto di scasso;	Jeremiah 2:34 And in the skirts of your robe may be seen the life-blood of those who have done no wrong: ...
Geremia 2:35 eppure, dopo tutto questo, tu dici: "Io sono innocente; certo, l’ira sua s’è stornata da me". Ecco, io entrerò in giudizio con te, perché hai detto: "Non ho peccato".	Jeremiah 2:35 And still you said, I have done no wrong; truly, his wrath is turned away from me. See, I will take up the cause against you, because you say, I have done no wrong.
Geremia 2:36 Perché hai tanta premura di mutare il tuo cammino? Anche dall’Egitto riceverai confusione, come già l’hai ricevuta dall’Assiria.	Jeremiah 2:36 Why do you go about so much for the purpose of changing your way? you will be shamed on account of Egypt, as you were shamed on account of Assyria.
Geremia 2:37 Anche di là uscirai con le mani sul capo; perché l’Eterno rigetta quelli ne’ quali tu confidi, e tu non riuscirai nel tuo intento per loro mezzo.	Jeremiah 2:37 Truly, you will go out from him with your hands on your head: for the Lord has given up those in whom you have put your faith, and they will be of no help to you.
