Giobbe 20:1 Allora Tsofar di Naama rispose e disse:	Job 20:1 Then Zophar the Naamathite made answer and said,
Giobbe 20:2 "Quel che tu dici mi spinge a risponderti e ne suscita in me il fervido impulso.	Job 20:2 For this cause my thoughts are troubling me and driving me on.
Giobbe 20:3 Ho udito rimproveri che mi fanno oltraggio; ma lo spirito mio mi darà una risposta assennata.	Job 20:3 I have to give ear to arguments which put me to shame, and your answers to me are wind without wisdom.
Giobbe 20:4 Non lo sai tu che in ogni tempo, da che l’uomo è stato posto sulla terra,	Job 20:4 Have you knowledge of this from early times, when man was placed on the earth,
Giobbe 20:5 il trionfo de’ malvagi è breve, e la gioia degli empi non dura che un istante?	Job 20:5 That the pride of the sinner is short, and the joy of the evil-doer but for a minute?
Giobbe 20:6 Quando la sua altezza giungesse fino al cielo ed il suo capo toccasse le nubi,	Job 20:6 Though he is lifted up to the heavens, and his head goes up to the clouds;
Giobbe 20:7 l’empio perirà per sempre come lo sterco suo; quelli che lo vedevano diranno: "Dov’è?"	Job 20:7 Like the waste from his body he comes to an end for ever: those who have seen him say, Where is he?
Giobbe 20:8 Se ne volerà via come un sogno, e non si troverà più; dileguerà come una visione notturna.	Job 20:8 He is gone like a dream, and is not seen again; he goes in flight like a vision of the night.
Giobbe 20:9 L’occhio che lo guardava, cesserà di vederlo, e la sua dimora più non lo scorgerà.	Job 20:9 The eye which saw him sees him no longer; and his place has no more knowledge of him.
Giobbe 20:10 I suoi figli si raccomanderanno ai poveri, e le sue mani restituiranno la sua ricchezza.	Job 20:10 His children are hoping that the poor will be kind to them, and his hands give back his wealth.
Giobbe 20:11 Il vigor giovanile che gli riempiva l’ossa giacerà nella polvere con lui.	Job 20:11 His bones are full of young strength, but it will go down with him into the dust.
Giobbe 20:12 Il male è dolce alla sua bocca, se lo nasconde sotto la lingua,	Job 20:12 Though evil-doing is sweet in his mouth, and he keeps it secretly under his tongue;
Giobbe 20:13 lo risparmia, non lo lascia andar giù, lo trattiene sotto al suo palato:	Job 20:13 Though he takes care of it, and does not let it go, but keeps it still in his mouth;
Giobbe 20:14 ma il cibo gli si trasforma nelle viscere, e gli diventa in corpo veleno d’aspide.	Job 20:14 His food becomes bitter in his stomach; the poison of snakes is inside him.
Giobbe 20:15 Ha trangugiato ricchezze e le vomiterà; Iddio stesso gliele ricaccerà dal ventre.	Job 20:15 He takes down wealth as food, and sends it up again; it is forced out of his stomach by God.
Giobbe 20:16 Ha succhiato veleno d’aspide, la lingua della vipera l’ucciderà.	Job 20:16 He takes the poison of snakes into his mouth, the tongue of the snake is the cause of his death.
Giobbe 20:17 Non godrà più la vista d’acque perenni, né di rivi fluenti di miele e di latte.	Job 20:17 Let him not see the rivers of oil, the streams of honey and milk.
Giobbe 20:18 Renderà il frutto delle sue fatiche, senza poterlo ingoiare. Pari alla sua ricchezza sarà la restituzione che ne dovrà fare, e così non godrà dei suoi beni.	Job 20:18 He is forced to give back the fruit of his work, and may not take it for food; he has no joy in the profit of his trading.
Giobbe 20:19 Perché ha oppresso e abbandonato il povero, s’è impadronito di case che non avea costruite;	Job 20:19 Because he has been cruel to the poor, turning away from them in their trouble; because he has taken a house by force which he did not put up;
Giobbe 20:20 perché la sua ingordigia non conobbe requie, egli non salverà nulla di ciò che ha tanto bramato.	Job 20:20 There is no peace for him in his wealth, and no salvation for him in those things in which he took delight.
Giobbe 20:21 La sua voracità non risparmiava nulla, perciò il suo benessere non durerà.	Job 20:21 He had never enough for his desire; for this cause his well-being will quickly come to an end.
Giobbe 20:22 Nel colmo dell’abbondanza, si troverà in penuria; la mano di chiunque ebbe a soffrir tormenti si leverà contro lui.	Job 20:22 Even when his wealth is great, he is full of care, for the hand of everyone who is in trouble is turned against him.
Giobbe 20:23 Quando starà per riempirsi il ventre, ecco Iddio manderà contro a lui l’ardor della sua ira; gliela farà piovere addosso per servirgli di cibo.	Job 20:23 God gives him his desire, and sends the heat of his wrath on him, making it come down on him like rain.
Giobbe 20:24 Se scampa alle armi di ferro, lo trafigge l’arco di rame.	Job 20:24 He may go in flight from the iron spear, but the arrow from the bow of brass will go through him;
Giobbe 20:25 Si strappa il dardo, esso gli esce dal corpo, la punta sfolgorante gli vien fuori dal fiele, lo assalgono i terrori della morte.	Job 20:25 He is pulling it out, and it comes out of his back; and its shining point comes out of his side; he is overcome by fears.
Giobbe 20:26 Buio profondo è riservato a’ suoi tesori; lo consumerà un fuoco non attizzato dall’uomo, che divorerà quel che resta nella sua tenda.	Job 20:26 All his wealth is stored up for the dark: a fire not made by man sends destruction on him, and on everything in his tent.
Giobbe 20:27 Il cielo rivelerà la sua iniquità, e la terra insorgerà contro di lui.	Job 20:27 The heavens make clear his sin, and the earth gives witness against him.
Giobbe 20:28 Le rendite della sua casa se n’andranno, portate via nel giorno dell’ira di Dio.	Job 20:28 The produce of his house is taken away into another country, like things given into the hands of others in the day of wrath.
Giobbe 20:29 Tale la parte che Dio riserba all’empio, tale il retaggio che Dio gli destina".	Job 20:29 This is the reward of the evil man, and the heritage given to him by God.
