Gioele 2:1 Sonate la tromba in Sion! Date l’allarme sul monte mio santo! Tremino tutti gli abitanti del paese, perché il giorno dell’Eterno viene, perch’è vicino,	Joel 2:1 Let the horn be sounded in Zion, and a war-cry in my holy mountain; let all the people of the land be troubled: for the day of the Lord is coming;
Gioele 2:2 giorno di tenebre, di densa oscurità, giorno di nubi, di fitta nebbia! Come l’alba si spande sui monti, viene un popolo numeroso e potente, quale non si vide mai prima, né mai più si vedrà poi negli anni delle età più remote.	Joel 2:2 For a day of dark and deep shade is near, a day of cloud and black night: like a black cloud a great and strong people is covering the mountains; there has never been any like them and will not be after them again, from generation to generation.
Gioele 2:3 Davanti a lui un fuoco divora, e dietro a lui divampa una fiamma; prima di lui, il paese era come un giardino d’Eden; dopo di lui, è un desolato deserto; nulla gli sfugge.	Joel 2:3 Before them fire sends destruction, and after them flame is burning: the land is like the garden of Eden before them, and after them an unpeopled waste; truly, nothing has been kept safe from them.
Gioele 2:4 A vederli, paion cavalli, e corron come de’ cavalieri.	Joel 2:4 Their form is like the form of horses, and they are running like war-horses.
Gioele 2:5 Si fa come uno strepito di carri, quando saltano sulle vette de’ monti; fanno un crepitìo di fiamma che divora la stoppia; son come un popolo poderoso, schierato in battaglia.	Joel 2:5 Like the sound of war-carriages they go jumping on the tops of the mountains; like the noise of a flame of fire burning up the grain-stems, like a strong people lined up for the fight.
Gioele 2:6 Davanti a loro i popoli sono in angoscia, ogni volto impallidisce.	Joel 2:6 At their coming the people are bent with pain: all faces become red together.
Gioele 2:7 Corrono come uomini prodi, dànno la scalata alle mura come gente di guerra; ognuno va diritto davanti a sé, e non devìa dal proprio sentiero;	Joel 2:7 They are running like strong men, they go over the wall like men of war; every man goes straight on his way, their lines are not broken.
Gioele 2:8 nessuno sospinge il suo vicino, ognuno avanza per la sua strada; si slanciano in mezzo ai dardi, non rompon le file.	Joel 2:8 No one is pushing against another; everyone goes straight on his way: bursting through the sword points, their order is not broken.
Gioele 2:9 Invadono la città, corrono sulle mura; montano sulle case, entrano per le finestre come un ladro.	Joel 2:9 They make a rush on the town, running on the wall; they go up into the houses and in through the windows like a thief.
Gioele 2:10 Davanti a loro trema la terra, i cieli sono scossi, il sole e la luna s’oscurano, le stelle ritirano il loro splendore.	Joel 2:10 The earth is troubled before them and the heavens are shaking: the sun and the moon have become dark, and the stars keep back their shining:
Gioele 2:11 L’Eterno dà fuori la sua voce davanti al suo esercito, perché immenso è il suo campo e potente l’esecutore della sua parola. Sì, il giorno dell’Eterno è grande, oltremodo terribile; chi lo potrà sopportare?	Joel 2:11 And the Lord is thundering before his forces; for very great is his army; for he is strong who gives effect to his word: for the day of the Lord is great and greatly to be feared, and who has strength against it?
Gioele 2:12 E, non di meno, anche adesso, dice l’Eterno, tornate a me con tutto il cuor vostro, con digiuni, con pianti, con lamenti!	Joel 2:12 But even now, says the Lord, come back to me with all your heart, keeping from food, with weeping and with sorrow:
Gioele 2:13 Stracciatevi il cuore e non le vesti e tornate all’Eterno, al vostro Dio, poich’egli è misericordioso e pietoso, lento all’ira e pieno di bontà, e si pente del male che manda.	Joel 2:13 Let your hearts be broken, and not your clothing, and come back to the Lord your God: for he is full of grace and pity, slow to be angry and great in mercy, ready to be turned from his purpose of punishment.
Gioele 2:14 Chi sa ch’ei non si volga e si penta lasciando dietro a sé una benedizione, delle offerte e delle libazioni per l’Eterno, per l’Iddio vostro?	Joel 2:14 May it not be that he will again let his purpose be changed and let a blessing come after him, even a meal offering and a drink offering for the Lord your God?
Gioele 2:15 Sonate la tromba in Sion, bandite un digiuno, convocate una solenne raunanza!	Joel 2:15 Let a horn be sounded in Zion, let a time be fixed for going without food, have a holy meeting:
Gioele 2:16 Radunare il popolo, bandite una santa assemblea! Radunate i vecchi, radunate i fanciulli, e quelli che poppano ancora! Esca lo sposo dalla sua camera, e la sposa dalla propria alcova!	Joel 2:16 Get the people together, make the mass of the people holy, send for the old men, get together the children and babies at the breast: let the newly married man come out of his room and the bride from her tent.
Gioele 2:17 Fra il portico e l’altare piangano i sacerdoti, ministri dell’Eterno, e dicano: "Risparmia, o Eterno, il tuo popolo, e non esporre la tua eredità all’obbrobrio, ai motteggi delle nazioni! Perché si direbbe fra i popoli: Dov’è il loro Dio?"	Joel 2:17 Let the priests, the servants of the Lord, be weeping between the covered way and the altar, and let them say, Have mercy on your people, O Lord, do not give up your heritage to shame, so that the nations become their rulers: why let them say among the peoples, Where is their God?
Gioele 2:18 L’Eterno s’è mosso a gelosia per il suo paese, ed ha avuto pietà del suo popolo.	Joel 2:18 Then the Lord had a care for the honour of his land and had pity on his people.
Gioele 2:19 L’Eterno ha risposto, e ha detto al suo popolo: "Ecco, io vi manderò del grano, del vino, dell’olio, e voi ne sarete saziati; e non vi esporrò più all’obbrobrio fra le nazioni.	Joel 2:19 And the Lord made answer and said to his people, See, I will send you grain and wine and oil in full measure: and I will no longer let you be shamed among the nations:
Gioele 2:20 Allontanerò da voi il nemico che viene dal settentrione e lo caccerò in una terra arida e desolata; la sua avanguardia, verso il mare orientale; la sua retroguardia, verso il mare occidentale; la sua infezione, salirà il suo fetore, perché ha fatto cose grandi".	Joel 2:20 I will send the one from the north far away from you, driving him into a dry and waste land, with his front to the sea of the east and his back to the sea of the west, and the smell of him will go up, even his evil smell will go up.
Gioele 2:21 Non temere, o suolo del paese, gioisci, rallegrati, poiché l’Eterno ha fatto cose grandi!	Joel 2:21 Have no fear, O land; be glad with great joy; for the Lord has done great things.
Gioele 2:22 Non temete, o bestie della campagna, perché i pascoli del deserto riverdeggiano, perché gli alberi portano il loro frutto, il fico e la vite producono largamente!	Joel 2:22 Have no fear, you beasts of the field, for the grass-lands of the waste are becoming green, for the trees are producing fruit, the fig-tree and the vine give out their strength.
Gioele 2:23 E voi, figliuoli di Sion, gioite, rallegratevi nell’Eterno, nel vostro Dio, perché vi dà la pioggia d’autunno in giusta misura, e fa cadere per voi la pioggia, quella d’autunno e quella di primavera, al principio della stagione.	Joel 2:23 Be glad, then, you children of Zion, and have joy in the Lord your God: for he gives you food in full measure, making the rain come down for you, the early and the late rain as at the first.
Gioele 2:24 Le aie saran piene di grano, e i tini traboccheranno di vino e d’olio;	Joel 2:24 And the floors will be full of grain, and the crushing-places overflowing with wine and oil.
Gioele 2:25 e vi compenserò delle annate che han mangiato il grillo, la cavalletta, la locusta e il bruco, il mio grande esercito che avevo mandato contro di voi.	Joel 2:25 I will give back to you the years which were food for the locust, the plant-worm, the field-fly, and the worm, my great army which I sent among you.
Gioele 2:26 E voi mangerete a sazietà, e loderete il nome dell’Eterno, del vostro Dio, che avrà operato per voi delle maraviglie, e il mio popolo non sarà mai più coperto d’onta.	Joel 2:26 You will have food in full measure, and give praise to the name of the Lord your God, who has done wonders for you:
Gioele 2:27 E voi conoscerete che io sono in mezzo ad Israele, e che io sono l’Eterno, il vostro Dio, e non ve n’è alcun altro; e il mio popolo non sarà mai più coperto d’onta.	Joel 2:27 And you will be certain that I am in Israel, and that I am the Lord your God, and there is no other: and my people will never be shamed.
Gioele 2:28 E, dopo questo, avverrà che io spanderò il mio spirito sopra ogni carne, e i vostri figliuoli e le vostre figliuole profetizzeranno, i vostri vecchi avranno dei sogni, i vostri giovani avranno delle visioni.	Joel 2:28 And after that, it will come about, says the Lord, that I will send my spirit on all flesh; and your sons and your daughters will be prophets, your old men will have dreams, your young men will see visions:
Gioele 2:29 E anche sui servi e sulle serve, spanderò in quei giorni il mio spirito.	Joel 2:29 And on the servants and the servant-girls in those days I will send my spirit.
Gioele 2:30 E farò dei prodigi nei cieli e sulla terra: sangue, fuoco, e colonne di fumo.	Joel 2:30 And I will let wonders be seen in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and pillars of smoke.
Gioele 2:31 Il sole sarà mutato in tenebre, e la luna in sangue prima che venga il grande e terribile giorno dell’Eterno.	Joel 2:31 The sun will be made dark and the moon turned to blood, before the great day of the Lord comes, a day to be feared.
Gioele 2:32 E avverrà che chiunque invocherà il nome dell’Eterno sarà salvato; poiché sul monte Sion ed in Gerusalemme vi sarà salvezza, come ha detto l’Eterno, e fra gli scampati che l’Eterno chiamerà.	Joel 2:32 And it will be that whoever makes his prayer to the name of the Lord will be kept safe: for in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem some will be kept safe, as the Lord has said, and will be among the small band marked out by the Lord.
