Giosuè 3:1 E Giosuè si levò la mattina di buon’ora e con tutti i figliuoli d’Israele partì da Sittim. Essi arrivarono al Giordano, e quivi fecero alto prima di passarlo.	Joshua 3:1 Then Joshua got up early in the morning, and, moving on from Shittim, he and all the children of Israel came to Jordan and were there for the night before going over.
Giosuè 3:2 In capo a tre giorni, gli ufficiali percorsero il campo,	Joshua 3:2 And at the end of three days, the men in authority over the people went through the tents,
Giosuè 3:3 e dettero quest’ordine al popolo: "Quando vedrete l’arca del patto dell’Eterno, ch’è il vostro Dio, portata dai sacerdoti levitici, partirete dal luogo ove siete accampati, e andrete dietro ad essa.	Joshua 3:3 Giving the people their orders, and saying, When you see the ark of the agreement of the Lord your God lifted up by the priests, the Levites, then get up from your places and go after it;
Giosuè 3:4 Però, vi sarà tra voi e l’arca la distanza d’un tratto di circa duemila cubiti; non v’accostate ad essa, affinché possiate veder bene la via per la quale dovete andare; poiché non siete ancora mai passati per questa via".	Joshua 3:4 But let there be a space between you and it of about two thousand cubits: come no nearer to it, so that you may see the way you have to go, for you have not been over this way before.
Giosuè 3:5 E Giosuè disse al popolo: "Santificatevi, poiché domani l’Eterno farà delle maraviglie in mezzo a voi".	Joshua 3:5 And Joshua said to the people, Make yourselves holy, for tomorrow the Lord will do works of wonder among you.
Giosuè 3:6 Poi Giosuè parlò ai sacerdoti, dicendo: "Prendete in ispalla l’arca del patto e passate davanti al popolo". Ed essi presero in ispalla l’arca del patto e camminarono davanti al popolo.	Joshua 3:6 Then Joshua said to the priests, Take up the ark of the agreement and go over in front of the people. So they took up the ark of the agreement and went in front of the people.
Giosuè 3:7 E l’Eterno disse a Giosuè: "Oggi comincerò a renderti grande agli occhi di tutto Israele, affinché riconoscano che, come fui con Mosè, così sarò con te.	Joshua 3:7 And the Lord said to Joshua, From now on I will give you glory in the eyes of all Israel, so that they may see that, as I was with Moses, so I will be with you.
Giosuè 3:8 E tu dà ai sacerdoti che portano l’arca del patto, quest’ordine: Quando sarete giunti alla riva delle acque del Giordano, vi fermerete nel Giordano".	Joshua 3:8 And you are to give orders to the priests who take up the ark of the agreement, and say, When you come to the edge of the waters of Jordan, go no further.
Giosuè 3:9 E Giosuè disse ai figliuoli d’Israele: "Fatevi dappresso e ascoltate le parole dell’Eterno, del vostro Dio".	Joshua 3:9 And Joshua said to the children of Israel, Come to me here: and give ear to the words of the Lord your God.
Giosuè 3:10 Poi Giosuè disse: "Da questo riconoscerete che l’Iddio vivente è in mezzo a voi, e ch’egli caccerà certamente d’innanzi a voi i Cananei, gli Hittei, gli Hivvei, i Ferezei, i Ghirgasei, gli Amorei e i Gebusei:	Joshua 3:10 And Joshua said, By this you will see that the living God is among you, and that he will certainly send out from before you the Canaanite and the Hittite and the Hivite and the Perizzite and the Girgashite and the Amorite and the Jebusite.
Giosuè 3:11 ecco, l’arca del patto del Signore di tutta la terra sta per passare davanti a voi per entrar nel Giordano.	Joshua 3:11 See, the ark of the agreement of the Lord of all the earth is going over before you into Jordan.
Giosuè 3:12 Or dunque prendete dodici uomini fra le tribù d’Israele, uno per tribù.	Joshua 3:12 So take twelve men out of the tribes of Israel, a man from every tribe.
Giosuè 3:13 E avverrà che, non appena i sacerdoti recanti l’arca dell’Eterno, del Signor di tutta la terra, avran posato le piante de’ piedi nelle acque del Giordano, le acque del Giordano, che scendono d’insù, saranno tagliate, e si fermeranno in un mucchio".	Joshua 3:13 And when the feet of the priests who take up the ark of the Lord, the Lord of all the earth, come to rest in the waters of Jordan, the waters of Jordan will be cut off, all the waters flowing down from higher up, and will come together in a mass.
Giosuè 3:14 E avvenne che quando il popolo fu uscito dalle sue tende per passare il Giordano, avendo dinanzi a lui i sacerdoti che portavano l’arca del patto,	Joshua 3:14 So when the people went out from their tents to go over Jordan, the priests who took up the ark of the agreement were in front of the people;
Giosuè 3:15 appena quelli che portavan l’arca giunsero al Giordano e i sacerdoti che portavan l’arca ebber tuffati i piedi nell’acqua della riva (il Giordano straripa da per tutto durante tutto il tempo della mèsse),	Joshua 3:15 And when those who took up the ark came to Jordan, and the feet of the priests who took up the ark were touching the edge of the water (for the waters of Jordan are overflowing all through the time of the grain-cutting),
Giosuè 3:16 le acque che scendevano d’insù si fermarono e si elevarono in un mucchio, a una grandissima distanza, fin presso la città di Adam che è allato di Tsartan; e quelle che scendevano verso il mare della pianura, il mar Salato, furono interamente separate da esse; e il popolo passò dirimpetto a Gerico.	Joshua 3:16 Then the waters flowing down from higher up were stopped and came together in a mass a long way back at Adam, a town near Zarethan; and the waters flowing down to the sea of the Arabah, the Salt Sea, were cut off: and the people went across opposite Jericho.
Giosuè 3:17 E i sacerdoti che portavano l’arca del patto dell’Eterno stettero a piè fermo sull’asciutto, in mezzo al Giordano, mentre tutto Israele passava per l’asciutto, finché tutta la nazione ebbe finito di passare il Giordano.	Joshua 3:17 And the priests who took up the ark of the agreement of the Lord kept their places, with their feet on dry land in the middle of Jordan, while all Israel went over on dry land, till all the nation had gone over Jordan.
