Giovanni 7	John 7
Giovanni 7:1 Dopo queste cose, Gesù andava attorno per la Galilea; non voleva andare attorno per la Giudea perché i Giudei cercavan d’ucciderlo.	John 7:1 After this, Jesus went from place to place in Galilee. He did not go about in Judaea, because the Jews were looking for a chance to put him to death.
Giovanni 7:2 Or la festa de’ Giudei, detta delle Capanne, era vicina.	John 7:2 But the feast of the Jews, the feast of tents, was near.
Giovanni 7:3 Perciò i suoi fratelli gli dissero: Partiti di qua e vattene in Giudea, affinché i tuoi discepoli veggano anch’essi le opere che tu fai.	John 7:3 So his brothers said to him, Go away from here into Judaea so that your disciples may see the works which you do.
Giovanni 7:4 Poiché niuno fa cosa alcuna in segreto, quando cerca d’esser riconosciuto pubblicamente. Se tu fai codeste cose, palesati al mondo.	John 7:4 Because no man does things secretly if he has a desire that men may have knowledge of him. If you do these things, let yourself be seen by all men.
Giovanni 7:5 Poiché neppure i suoi fratelli credevano in lui.	John 7:5 For even his brothers had no belief in him.
Giovanni 7:6 Gesù quindi disse loro: Il mio tempo non è ancora venuto; il vostro tempo, invece, è sempre pronto.	John 7:6 Jesus said to them, My time is still to come, but any time is good for you.
Giovanni 7:7 Il mondo non può odiar voi; ma odia me, perché io testimonio di lui che le sue opere sono malvagie.	John 7:7 It is not possible for you to be hated by the world; but I am hated by it, because I give witness that what it does is evil.
Giovanni 7:8 Salite voi alla festa; io non salgo ancora a questa festa, perché il mio tempo non è ancora compiuto.	John 7:8 Go you up to the feast: I am not going up now to the feast because my time has not fully come.
Giovanni 7:9 E dette loro queste cose, rimase in Galilea.	John 7:9 Having said these things to them, he still kept in Galilee.
Giovanni 7:10 Quando poi i suoi fratelli furono saliti alla festa, allora vi salì anche lui; non palesemente, ma come di nascosto.	John 7:10 But after his brothers had gone up to the feast, then he went up, not publicly, but in secret.
Giovanni 7:11 I Giudei dunque lo cercavano durante la festa, e dicevano: Dov’è egli?	John 7:11 At the feast the Jews were looking for him and saying, Where is he?
Giovanni 7:12 E v’era fra le turbe gran mormorio intorno a lui. Gli uni dicevano: E’ un uomo dabbene! Altri dicevano: No, anzi, travia la moltitudine!	John 7:12 And there was much discussion about him among the mass of the people. Some said, He is a good man; but others said, No, he is giving people false ideas.
Giovanni 7:13 Nessuno però parlava di lui apertamente, per paura de’ Giudei.	John 7:13 But no man said anything about him openly for fear of the Jews.
Giovanni 7:14 Or quando s’era già a metà della festa, Gesù salì al tempio e si mise a insegnare.	John 7:14 Now in the middle of the feast Jesus went up to the Temple and was teaching.
Giovanni 7:15 Onde i Giudei si maravigliavano e dicevano: Come mai s’intende costui di lettere, senz’aver fatto studi?	John 7:15 Then the Jews were surprised and said, How has this man got knowledge of books? He has never been to school.
Giovanni 7:16 E Gesù rispose loro e disse: La mia dottrina non è mia, ma di Colui che mi ha mandato.	John 7:16 Jesus gave them this answer: It is not my teaching, but his who sent me.
Giovanni 7:17 Se uno vuol fare la volontà di lui, conoscerà se questa dottrina è da Dio o se io parlo di mio.	John 7:17 If any man is ready to do God's pleasure he will have knowledge of the teaching and of where it comes from--from God or from myself.
Giovanni 7:18 Chi parla di suo cerca la propria gloria; ma chi cerca la gloria di colui che l’ha mandato, egli è verace e non v’è ingiustizia in lui.	John 7:18 The man whose words come from himself is looking for glory for himself, but he who is looking for the glory of him who sent him--that man is true and there is no evil in him.
Giovanni 7:19 Mosè non v’ha egli data la legge? Eppure nessun di voi mette ad effetto la legge! Perché cercate d’uccidermi?	John 7:19 Did not Moses give you the law? Even so, not one of you keeps the law. Why have you a desire to put me to death?
Giovanni 7:20 La moltitudine rispose: Tu hai un demonio! Chi cerca d’ucciderti?	John 7:20 The people said in answer, You have an evil spirit: who has any desire to put you to death?
Giovanni 7:21 Gesù rispose e disse loro: Un’opera sola ho fatto, e tutti ve ne maravigliate.	John 7:21 This was the answer of Jesus: I have done one work and you are all surprised at it.
Giovanni 7:22 Mosè v’ha dato la circoncisione (non che venga da Mosè, ma viene dai padri); e voi circoncidete l’uomo in giorno di sabato.	John 7:22 Moses gave you circumcision--not that it comes from Moses, but from the fathers--and even on the Sabbath you give a child circumcision.
Giovanni 7:23 Se un uomo riceve la circoncisione di sabato affinché la legge di Mosè non sia violata, vi adirate voi contro a me perché in giorno di sabato ho guarito un uomo tutto intero?	John 7:23 If a child is given circumcision on the Sabbath so that the law of Moses may not be broken, why are you angry with me because I made a man completely well on the Sabbath?
Giovanni 7:24 Non giudicate secondo l’apparenza, ma giudicate con giusto giudizio.	John 7:24 Let not your decisions be based on what you see, but on righteousness.
Giovanni 7:25 Dicevano dunque alcuni di Gerusalemme: Non è questi colui che cercano di uccidere?	John 7:25 Then some of the people of Jerusalem said, Is not this the man whose death is desired?
Giovanni 7:26 Eppure, ecco, egli parla liberamente, e non gli dicon nulla. Avrebbero mai i capi riconosciuto per davvero ch’egli è il Cristo?	John 7:26 And here he is talking openly and they say nothing to him! Is it possible that the rulers have knowledge that this is truly the Christ?
Giovanni 7:27 Eppure, costui sappiamo donde sia; ma quando il Cristo verrà, nessuno saprà donde egli sia.	John 7:27 However, it is clear to us where this man comes from: but when the Christ comes no one will have knowledge where he comes from.
Giovanni 7:28 Gesù dunque, insegnando nel tempio, esclamò: Voi e mi conoscete e sapete di dove sono; però io non son venuto da me, ma Colui che mi ha mandato è verità, e voi non lo conoscete.	John 7:28 Then, when he was teaching in the Temple, Jesus said with a loud voice, You have knowledge of me and you have knowledge of where I come from; and I have not come of myself; but there is One who has sent me; he is true, but you have no knowledge of him.
Giovanni 7:29 Io lo conosco, perché vengo da lui, ed è Lui che mi ha mandato.	John 7:29 I have knowledge of him because I came from him and he sent me.
Giovanni 7:30 Cercavan perciò di pigliarlo, ma nessuno gli mise le mani addosso, perché l’ora sua non era ancora venuta.	John 7:30 Then they had a desire to take him: but no man put hands on him because his hour was still to come.
Giovanni 7:31 Ma molti della folla credettero in lui, e dicevano: Quando il Cristo sarà venuto, farà egli più miracoli che questi non abbia fatto?	John 7:31 And numbers of the people had belief in him, and they said, When the Christ comes will he do more signs than this man has done?
Giovanni 7:32 I Farisei udirono la moltitudine mormorare queste cose di lui; e i capi sacerdoti e i Farisei mandarono delle guardie a pigliarlo.	John 7:32 This discussion of the people came to the ears of the Pharisees; and the chief priests and the Pharisees sent servants to take him.
Giovanni 7:33 Perciò Gesù disse loro: Io sono ancora con voi per poco tempo; poi me ne vo a Colui che mi ha mandato.	John 7:33 Then Jesus said, I will be with you a little longer and then I go to him who sent me.
Giovanni 7:34 Voi mi cercherete e non mi troverete; e dove io sarò, voi non potete venire.	John 7:34 You will be looking for me, and you will not see me: and where I am you may not come.
Giovanni 7:35 Perciò i Giudei dissero fra loro: Dove dunque andrà egli che noi non lo troveremo? Andrà forse a quelli che son dispersi fra i Greci, ad ammaestrare i Greci?	John 7:35 So the Jews said among themselves, To what place is he going where we will not see him? will he go to the Jews living among the Greeks and become the teacher of the Greeks?
Giovanni 7:36 Che significa questo suo dire: Voi mi cercherete e non mi troverete; e: Dove io sarò voi non potete venire?	John 7:36 What is this saying of his, You will be looking for me and will not see me, and where I am you may not come?
Giovanni 7:37 Or nell’ultimo giorno, il gran giorno della festa, Gesù, stando in piè, esclamò: Se alcuno ha sete, venga a me e beva.	John 7:37 On the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus got up and said in a loud voice, If any man is in need of drink let him come to me and I will give it to him.
Giovanni 7:38 Chi crede in me, come ha detto la Scrittura, fiumi d’acqua viva sgorgheranno dal suo seno.	John 7:38 He who has faith in me, out of his body, as the Writings have said, will come rivers of living water.
Giovanni 7:39 Or disse questo dello Spirito, che doveano ricevere quelli che crederebbero in lui; poiché lo Spirito non era ancora stato dato, perché Gesù non era ancora glorificato.	John 7:39 This he said of the Spirit which would be given to those who had faith in him: the Spirit had not been given then, because the glory of Jesus was still to come.
Giovanni 7:40 Una parte dunque della moltitudine, udite quelle parole, diceva: Questi è davvero il profeta.	John 7:40 When these words came to their ears, some of the people said, This is certainly the prophet.
Giovanni 7:41 Altri dicevano: Questi è il Cristo. Altri, invece, dicevano: Ma è forse dalla Galilea che viene il Cristo?	John 7:41 Others said, This is the Christ. But others said, Not so; will the Christ come from Galilee?
Giovanni 7:42 La Scrittura non ha ella detto che il Cristo viene dalla progenie di Davide e da Betleem, il villaggio dove stava Davide?	John 7:42 Do not the Writings say that the Christ comes of the seed of David and from Beth-lehem, the little town where David was?
Giovanni 7:43 Vi fu dunque dissenso fra la moltitudine, a motivo di lui;	John 7:43 So there was a division among the people because of him.
Giovanni 7:44 e alcuni di loro lo voleano pigliare, ma nessuno gli mise le mani addosso.	John 7:44 And some of them had a desire to take him; but no man put hands on him.
Giovanni 7:45 Le guardie dunque tornarono dai capi sacerdoti e dai Farisei, i quali dissero loro: Perché non l’avete condotto?	John 7:45 Then the servants went back to the chief priests and Pharisees, who said to them, Why have you not got him with you?
Giovanni 7:46 Le guardie risposero: Nessun uomo parlò mai come quest’uomo!	John 7:46 The servants made answer, No man ever said things like this man.
Giovanni 7:47 Onde i Farisei replicaron loro: Siete stati sedotti anche voi?	John 7:47 Then the Pharisees said to them, Have you, like the others, been given false ideas?
Giovanni 7:48 Ha qualcuno de’ capi o de’ Farisei creduto in lui?	John 7:48 Have any of the rulers belief in him, or any one of the Pharisees?
Giovanni 7:49 Ma questa plebe, che non conosce la legge, è maledetta!	John 7:49 But these people who have no knowledge of the law are cursed.
Giovanni 7:50 Nicodemo (un di loro, quello che prima era venuto a lui) disse loro:	John 7:50 Nicodemus--he who had come to Jesus before, being himself one of them--said to them,
Giovanni 7:51 La nostra legge giudica ella un uomo prima che sia stato udito e che si sappia quel che ha fatto?	John 7:51 Is a man judged by our law before it has given him a hearing and has knowledge of what he has done?
Giovanni 7:52 Essi gli risposero: sei anche tu di Galilea? Investiga, e vedrai che dalla Galilea non sorge profeta.	John 7:52 This was their answer: And do you come from Galilee? Make search and you will see that no prophet comes out of Galilee.
Giovanni 7:53 E ognuno se ne andò a casa sua.	John 7:53 [And every man went to his house;
