Matteo 22:1 E Gesù prese di nuovo a parlar loro in parabole dicendo:	Matthew 22:1 And Jesus, talking to them again in stories, said:
Matteo 22:2 Il regno de’ cieli è simile ad un re, il quale fece le nozze del suo figliuolo.	Matthew 22:2 The kingdom of heaven is like a certain king, who made a feast when his son was married,
Matteo 22:3 E mandò i suoi servitori a chiamare gl’invitati alle nozze; ma questi non vollero venire.	Matthew 22:3 And sent out his servants to get in the guests to the feast: and they would not come.
Matteo 22:4 Di nuovo mandò degli altri servitori, dicendo: Dite agli invitati: Ecco, io ho preparato il mio pranzo; i miei buoi ed i miei animali ingrassati sono ammazzati, e tutto è pronto; venite alle nozze.	Matthew 22:4 Again he sent out other servants, with orders to say to the guests, See, I have made ready my feast: my oxen and my fat beasts have been put to death, and all things are ready: come to the feast.
Matteo 22:5 Ma quelli, non curandosene, se n’andarono, chi al suo campo, chi al suo traffico;	Matthew 22:5 But they gave no attention, and went about their business, one to his farm, another to his trade:
Matteo 22:6 gli altri poi, presi i suoi servitori, li oltraggiarono e li uccisero.	Matthew 22:6 And the rest put violent hands on his servants, and did evil to them, and put them to death.
Matteo 22:7 Allora il re s’adirò, e mandò le sue truppe a sterminare quegli omicidi e ad ardere la loro città.	Matthew 22:7 But the king was angry; and he sent his armies, and those who had put his servants to death he gave to destruction, burning down their town with fire.
Matteo 22:8 Quindi disse ai suoi servitori: Le nozze, si, sono pronte; ma gl’invitati non ne erano degni.	Matthew 22:8 Then he said to his servants, The feast is ready but the guests were not good enough.
Matteo 22:9 Andate dunque sui crocicchi delle strade e chiamate alle nozze quanti troverete.	Matthew 22:9 Go then to the cross-roads, and get all those whom you see to come to the bride-feast.
Matteo 22:10 E quei servitori, usciti per le strade, raunarono tutti quelli che trovarono, cattivi e buoni; e la sala delle nozze fu ripiena di commensali.	Matthew 22:10 And those servants went out into the streets, and got together all those whom they came across, bad and good: and the feast was full of guests.
Matteo 22:11 Or il re, entrato per vedere quelli che erano a tavola, notò quivi un uomo che non vestiva l’abito di nozze.	Matthew 22:11 But when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man who had not on a guest's robe;
Matteo 22:12 E gli disse: Amico, come sei entrato qua senza aver un abito da nozze? E colui ebbe la bocca chiusa.	Matthew 22:12 And he says to him, Friend, how came you in here not having a guest's robe? And he had nothing to say.
Matteo 22:13 Allora il re disse ai servitori: Legatelo mani e piedi e gettatelo nelle tenebre di fuori. Ivi sarà il pianto e lo stridor de’ denti.	Matthew 22:13 Then the king said to the servants, Put cords round his hands and feet and put him out into the dark; there will be weeping and cries of sorrow.
Matteo 22:14 Poiché molti son chiamati, ma pochi eletti.	Matthew 22:14 For out of all to whom the good news has come, only a small number will get salvation.
Matteo 22:15 Allora i Farisei, ritiratisi, tennero consiglio per veder di coglierlo in fallo nelle sue parole.	Matthew 22:15 Then the Pharisees went and had a meeting to see how they might make use of his words to take him.
Matteo 22:16 E gli mandarono i loro discepoli con gli Erodiani a dirgli: Maestro, noi sappiamo che sei verace e insegni la via di Dio secondo verità, e non ti curi d’alcuno, perché non guardi all’apparenza delle persone.	Matthew 22:16 And they sent to him their disciples, with the Herodians, saying, Master, we see that you are true, and that you are teaching the true way of God, and have no fear of anyone, because you have no respect for a man's position.
Matteo 22:17 Dicci dunque: Che te ne pare? E’ egli lecito pagare il tributo a Cesare, o no?	Matthew 22:17 Give us, then, your opinion of this: Is it right to give tax to Caesar, or not?
Matteo 22:18 Ma Gesù, conosciuta la loro malizia, disse: Perché mi tentate, ipocriti?	Matthew 22:18 But Jesus saw their trick and said, Oh false ones, why are you attempting to put me in the wrong?
Matteo 22:19 Mostratemi la moneta del tributo. Ed essi gli porsero un denaro. Ed egli domandò loro:	Matthew 22:19 Let me see the tax money. And they gave him a penny.
Matteo 22:20 Di chi è questa effigie e questa iscrizione?	Matthew 22:20 And he said to them, Whose is this image and name on it?
Matteo 22:21 Gli risposero: Di Cesare. Allora egli disse loro: Rendete dunque a Cesare quel ch’è di Cesare, e a Dio quel ch’è di Dio.	Matthew 22:21 They say to him, Caesar's. Then he said to them, Give to Caesar the things which are Caesar's, and to God the things which are God's.
Matteo 22:22 Ed essi, udito ciò, si maravigliarono; e, lasciatolo, se ne andarono.	Matthew 22:22 And hearing it, they were full of wonder, and went away from him.
Matteo 22:23 In quell’istesso giorno vennero a lui de’ Sadducei, i quali dicono che non v’è risurrezione, e gli domandarono:	Matthew 22:23 On the same day there came to him the Sadducees, who say that there is no coming back from the dead: and they put a question to him, saying,
Matteo 22:24 Maestro, Mosè ha detto: Se uno muore senza figliuoli, il fratel suo sposi la moglie di lui e susciti progenie al suo fratello.	Matthew 22:24 Master, Moses said, If a man, at the time of his death, has no children, let his brother take his wife, and get a family for his brother;
Matteo 22:25 Or v’erano fra di noi sette fratelli; e il primo, ammogliatosi, morì; e, non avendo prole, lasciò sua moglie al suo fratello.	Matthew 22:25 Now there were among us seven brothers; and the first was married and at his death, having no seed, gave his wife to his brother;
Matteo 22:26 Lo stesso fece pure il secondo, poi il terzo, fino al settimo.	Matthew 22:26 In the same way the second and the third, up to the seventh.
Matteo 22:27 Infine, dopo tutti, morì anche la donna.	Matthew 22:27 And last of all the woman came to her end.
Matteo 22:28 Alla risurrezione, dunque, di quale dei sette sarà ella moglie? Poiché tutti l’hanno avuta.	Matthew 22:28 When they come back from the dead, then, whose wife will she be of the seven? because they all had her.
Matteo 22:29 Ma Gesù, rispondendo, disse loro: Voi errate, perché non conoscete le Scritture, né la potenza di Dio.	Matthew 22:29 But Jesus said to them in answer, You are in error, not having knowledge of the Writings, or of the power of God.
Matteo 22:30 Perché alla risurrezione né si prende né si dà moglie; ma i risorti son come angeli ne’ cieli.	Matthew 22:30 For when they come back from the dead there are no husbands and wives, but they are as the angels in heaven.
Matteo 22:31 Quanto poi alla risurrezione dei morti, non avete voi letto quel che vi fu insegnato da Dio,	Matthew 22:31 But about the dead coming back to life, have you no knowledge of what was said to you by God in the Writings:
Matteo 22:32 quando disse: Io sono l’Iddio di Abramo e l’Iddio d’Isacco e l’Iddio di Giacobbe? Egli non è l’Iddio de’ morti, ma de’ viventi.	Matthew 22:32 I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead but of the living.
Matteo 22:33 E le turbe, udite queste cose, stupivano della sua dottrina.	Matthew 22:33 And the people hearing it were surprised at his teaching.
Matteo 22:34 Or i Farisei, udito ch’egli avea chiusa la bocca a’ Sadducei, si raunarono insieme;	Matthew 22:34 But the Pharisees, hearing how the mouths of the Sadducees had been stopped, came together;
Matteo 22:35 e uno di loro, dottor della legge, gli domandò, per metterlo alla prova:	Matthew 22:35 And one of them, a teacher of the law, put a question to him, testing him, and saying,
Matteo 22:36 Maestro, qual è, nella legge, il gran comandamento?	Matthew 22:36 Master, which is the chief rule in the law?
Matteo 22:37 E Gesù gli disse: Ama il Signore Iddio tuo con tutto il tuo cuore e con tutta l’anima tua e con tutta la mente tua.	Matthew 22:37 And he said to him, Have love for the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.
Matteo 22:38 Questo è il grande e il primo comandamento.	Matthew 22:38 This is the first and greatest rule.
Matteo 22:39 Il secondo, simile ad esso, è: Ama il tuo prossimo come te stesso.	Matthew 22:39 And a second like it is this, Have love for your neighbour as for yourself.
Matteo 22:40 Da questi due comandamenti dipendono tutta la legge ed i profeti.	Matthew 22:40 On these two rules all the law and the prophets are based.
Matteo 22:41 Or essendo i Farisei raunati, Gesù li interrogò dicendo:	Matthew 22:41 Now while the Pharisees were together, Jesus put a question to them, saying,
Matteo 22:42 Che vi par egli del Cristo? di chi è egli figliuolo? Essi gli risposero: Di Davide.	Matthew 22:42 What is your opinion of the Christ? whose son is he? They say to him, The Son of David.
Matteo 22:43 Ed egli a loro: Come dunque Davide, parlando per lo Spirito, lo chiama Signore, dicendo:	Matthew 22:43 He says to them, How then does David in the Spirit give him the name of Lord, saying,
Matteo 22:44 Il Signore ha detto al mio Signore: Siedi alla mia destra finché io abbia posto i tuoi nemici sotto i tuoi piedi?	Matthew 22:44 The Lord said to my Lord, Be seated at my right hand, till I put under your feet all those who are against you?
Matteo 22:45 Se dunque Davide lo chiama Signore, com’è egli suo figliuolo?	Matthew 22:45 If David then gives him the name of Lord, how is he his son?
Matteo 22:46 E nessuno potea replicargli parola; e da quel giorno nessuno ardì più interrogarlo.	Matthew 22:46 And no one was able to give him an answer, and so great was their fear of him, that from that day no one put any more questions to him.
