Nahum 1:1 Oracolo relativo a Ninive; libro della visione di Nahum d’Elkosh.	Nahum 1:1 The word about Nineveh. The book of the vision of Nahum the Elkoshite.
Nahum 1:2 L’Eterno è un Dio geloso e vendicatore; L’Eterno è vendicatore e pieno di furore; l’Eterno si vendica dei suoi avversari, e serba il cruccio per i suoi nemici.	Nahum 1:2 The Lord is a God who takes care of his honour and gives punishment for wrong; the Lord gives punishment and is angry; the Lord sends punishment on those who are against him, being angry with his haters.
Nahum 1:3 L’Eterno è lento all’ira, è grande in forza, ma non tiene il colpevole per innocente. L’Eterno cammina nel turbine e nella tempesta, e le nuvole son la polvere de’ suoi piedi.	Nahum 1:3 The Lord is slow to get angry and great in power, and will not let the sinner go without punishment: the way of the Lord is in the wind and the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.
Nahum 1:4 Egli sgrida il mare e lo prosciuga, dissecca tutti i fiumi. Basan langue, langue il Carmelo, e langue il fiore del Libano.	Nahum 1:4 He says sharp words to the sea and makes it dry, drying up all the rivers: Bashan is feeble, and Carmel, and the flower of Lebanon is without strength.
Nahum 1:5 I monti tremano davanti a lui, si struggono i colli; la terra si solleva alla sua presenza, e il mondo con tutti i suoi abitanti.	Nahum 1:5 The mountains are shaking because of him, and the hills flowing away; the earth is falling to bits before him, the world and all who are in it.
Nahum 1:6 Chi può reggere davanti alla sua indignazione? Chi può sussistere sotto l’ardore della sua ira? Il suo furore si spande come fuoco, e le scoscendono davanti a lui.	Nahum 1:6 Who may keep his place before his wrath? and who may undergo the heat of his passion? his wrath is let loose like fire and the rocks are broken open by him.
Nahum 1:7 L’Eterno è buono; è una fortezza nel giorno della distretta, ed egli conosce quelli che si rifugiano in lui.	Nahum 1:7 The Lord is good, a strong place in the day of trouble; and he has knowledge of those who take him for their safe cover.
Nahum 1:8 Ma con una irrompente inondazione egli farà una totale distruzione del luogo ov’è Ninive, e inseguirà i propri nemici fin nelle tenebre.	Nahum 1:8 But like water overflowing he will take them away; he will put an end to those who come up against him, driving his haters into the dark.
Nahum 1:9 Che meditate voi contro l’Eterno? Egli farà una distruzione totale; la distretta non sorgerà due volte.	Nahum 1:9 What are you designing against the Lord? he will put an end to it: his haters will not come up again a second time.
Nahum 1:10 Poiché fossero pur intrecciati come spine e fradici pel vino ingollato, saran divorati del tutto, come stoppia secca.	Nahum 1:10 For though they are like twisted thorns, and are overcome as with drink, they will come to destruction like stems of grass fully dry.
Nahum 1:11 Da te è uscito colui che ha meditato del male contro l’Eterno, che ha macchinato scelleratezze.	Nahum 1:11 One has gone out from you who is designing evil against the Lord, whose purposes are of no value.
Nahum 1:12 Così parla l’Eterno: Anche se in piena forza e numerosi, saranno falciati e scompariranno, e s’io t’ho afflitta non t’affliggerò più.	Nahum 1:12 This is what the Lord has said: The days of my cause against you are ended; they are cut off and past. Though I have sent trouble on you, you will no longer be troubled.
Nahum 1:13 Ora spezzerò il suo giogo d’addosso a te, e infrangerò i tuoi legami.	Nahum 1:13 And now I will let his yoke be broken off you, and your chains be parted.
Nahum 1:14 E quanto a te, popolo di Ninive, l’Eterno ha dato quest’ordine: Che non vi sia più posterità del tuo nome; io sterminerò dalla casa delle tue divinità le immagini scolpite e le immagini fuse; io ti preparerò la tomba perché sei divenuto spregevole.	Nahum 1:14 The Lord has given an order about you, that no more of your name are to be planted: from the house of your gods I will have the pictured and metal images cut off; I will make your last resting-place a place of shame; for you are completely evil.
Nahum 1:15 Ecco, sui monti, i piedi di colui che reca buone novelle, che annunzia la pace! Celebra le tue feste, o Giuda, sciogli i tuoi voti; poiché lo scellerato non passerà più in mezzo a te; egli è sterminato interamente.	Nahum 1:15 See on the mountains the feet of him who comes with good news, giving word of peace! Keep your feasts, O Judah, give effect to your oaths: for the good-for-nothing man will never again go through you; he is completely cut off.
