Tito 1	Titus 1
Tito 1:1 Paolo, servitore di Dio e apostolo di Gesù Cristo per la fede degli eletti di Dio e la conoscenza della verità che è secondo pietà,	Titus 1:1 Paul, a servant of God, and an Apostle of Jesus Christ, in agreement with the faith of the saints of God and the full knowledge of what is true in harmony with religion,
Tito 1:2 nella speranza della vita eterna la quale Iddio, che non può mentire, promise avanti i secoli,	Titus 1:2 In the hope of eternal life, which was made certain before eternal time, by the word of God who is ever true;
Tito 1:3 manifestando poi nei suoi propri tempi la sua parola mediante la predicazione che è stata a me affidata per mandato di Dio, nostro Salvatore,	Titus 1:3 Who, in his time, made clear his word in the good news, of which, by the order of God our Saviour, I became a preacher;
Tito 1:4 a Tito, mio vero figliuolo secondo la fede che ci è comune, grazia e pace da Dio Padre e da Cristo Gesù, nostro Salvatore.	Titus 1:4 To Titus, my true child in our common faith: Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Saviour.
Tito 1:5 Per questa ragione t’ho lasciato in Creta: perché tu dia ordine alle cose che rimangono a fare, e costituisca degli anziani per ogni città, come t’ho ordinato;	Titus 1:5 I did not take you with me when I went away from Crete, so that you might do what was necessary to put things in order there, placing men in authority over the churches in every town, as I said to you;
Tito 1:6 quando si trovi chi sia irreprensibile, marito d’una sola moglie, avente figliuoli fedeli, che non sieno accusati di dissolutezza né insubordinati.	Titus 1:6 Men having a good record, husbands of one wife, whose children are of the faith, children of whom it may not be said that they are given to loose living or are uncontrolled.
Tito 1:7 Poiché il vescovo bisogna che sia irreprensibile, come economo di Dio; non arrogante, non iracondo, non dedito al vino, non manesco, non cupido di disonesto guadagno,	Titus 1:7 For it is necessary for a Bishop to be a man of virtue, as God's servant; not pushing himself forward, not quickly moved to wrath or blows, not desiring profit for himself;
Tito 1:8 ma ospitale, amante del bene, assennato, giusto, santo, temperante,	Titus 1:8 But opening his house freely to guests; a lover of what is good, serious-minded, upright, holy, self-controlled;
Tito 1:9 attaccato alla fedel Parola quale gli è stata insegnata, onde sia capace d’esortare nella sana dottrina e di convincere i contradittori.	Titus 1:9 Keeping to the true word of the teaching, so that he may be able to give comfort by right teaching and overcome the arguments of the doubters.
Tito 1:10 Poiché vi son molti ribelli, cianciatori e seduttori di menti, specialmente fra quelli della circoncisione, ai quali bisogna turare la bocca;	Titus 1:10 For there are men who are not ruled by law; foolish talkers, false teachers, specially those of the circumcision,
Tito 1:11 uomini che sovvertono le case intere, insegnando cose che non dovrebbero, per amor di disonesto guadagno.	Titus 1:11 By whom some families have been completely overturned; who take money for teaching things which are not right; these will have to be stopped.
Tito 1:12 Uno dei loro, un loro proprio profeta, disse: "I Cretesi son sempre bugiardi, male bestie, ventri pigri".	Titus 1:12 One of their prophets has said, The men of Crete are ever false, evil beasts, lovers of food, hating work.
Tito 1:13 Questa testimonianza è verace. Riprendili perciò severamente, affinché siano sani nella fede,	Titus 1:13 This witness is true. So say sharp words to them so that they may come to the right faith,
Tito 1:14 non dando retta a favole giudaiche né a comandamenti d’uomini che voltan le spalle alla verità.	Titus 1:14 Giving no attention to the fictions of the Jews and the rules of men who have no true knowledge.
Tito 1:15 Tutto è puro per quelli che son puri; ma per i contaminati ed increduli niente è puro; anzi, tanto la mente che la coscienza loro son contaminate.	Titus 1:15 To the clean in heart all things are clean: but to those who are unclean and without faith nothing is clean; they become unclean in mind and in thought.
Tito 1:16 Fanno professione di conoscere Iddio; ma lo rinnegano con le loro opere, essendo abominevoli, e ribelli, e incapaci di qualsiasi opera buona.	Titus 1:16 They say that they have knowledge of God, while by their acts they are turning their backs on him; they are hated by all, hard-hearted, and judged to be without value for any good work.
