Jeremias 37	Jeremiah 37
Jeremias 37:1 E Zedequias, filho de Josias, a quem Nabucodonozor, rei de Babilônia, constituiu rei na terra de Judá, reinou em lugar de Conias, filho de Jeoiaquim.	Jeremiah 37:1 And Zedekiah the son of Josiah reigned as king, instead of Coniah the son of Jehoiakim, whom Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon made king in the land of Judah.
Jeremias 37:2 Mas nem ele, nem os seus servos, nem o povo da terra escutaram as palavras do Senhor que este falou por intermédio de Jeremias o profeta.	Jeremiah 37:2 But neither he, nor his servants, nor the people of the land, did hearken unto the words of Jehovah, which he spake by the prophet Jeremiah.
Jeremias 37:3 Contudo mandou o rei Zedequias a Jeucal filho de Selemias, e a Sofonias, filho de Maaséias, o sacerdote, ao profeta Jeremias, para lhe dizerem: Roga agora por nós ao Senhor nosso Deus,	Jeremiah 37:3 And Zedekiah the king sent Jehucal the son of Shelemiah, and Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah, the priest, to the prophet Jeremiah, saying, Pray now unto Jehovah our God for us.
Jeremias 37:4 Ora, Jeremias entrava e saía entre o povo; pois ainda não o tinham encerrado na prisão.	Jeremiah 37:4 Now Jeremiah came in and went out among the people; for they had not put him into prison.
Jeremias 37:5 E o exército de Faraó saíra do Egito; quando, pois, os caldeus que estavam sitiando Jerusalém, ouviram esta notícia, retiraram-se de Jerusalém.	Jeremiah 37:5 And Pharaoh's army was come forth out of Egypt; and when the Chaldeans that were besieging Jerusalem heard tidings of them, they brake up from Jerusalem.
Jeremias 37:6 Então veio a Jeremias, o profeta, a palavra do Senhor, dizendo:	Jeremiah 37:6 Then came the word of Jehovah unto the prophet Jeremiah, saying,
Jeremias 37:7 Assim diz o Senhor, Deus de Israel: Assim direis ao rei de Judá, que vos enviou a mim, para me consultar: Eis que o exército de Faraó, que saiu em vosso socorro, voltará para a sua terra no Egito.	Jeremiah 37:7 Thus saith Jehovah, the God of Israel, Thus shall ye say to the king of Judah, that sent you unto me to inquire of me: Behold, Pharaoh's army, which is come forth to help you, shall return to Egypt into their own land.
Jeremias 37:8 E voltarão os caldeus, e pelejarão contra esta cidade, e a tomarão, e a queimarão a fogo.	Jeremiah 37:8 And the Chaldeans shall come again, and fight against this city; and they shall take it, and burn it with fire.
Jeremias 37:9 Assim diz o Senhor: Não vos enganeis a vós mesmos, dizendo: Sem dúvida os caldeus se retirarão de nós; pois não se retirarão.	Jeremiah 37:9 Thus saith Jehovah, Deceive not yourselves, saying, The Chaldeans shall surely depart from us; for they shall not depart.
Jeremias 37:10 Porque ainda que derrotásseis a todo o exército dos caldeus que peleja contra vós, e entre eles só ficassem homens feridos, contudo se levantariam, cada um na sua tenda, e queimariam a fogo esta cidade.	Jeremiah 37:10 For though ye had smitten the whole army of the Chaldeans that fight against you, and there remained but wounded men among them, yea would they rise up every man in his tent, and burn this city with fire.
Jeremias 37:11 Ora, quando se retirou de Jerusalém o exército dos caldeus, por causa do exército de Iearaó,	Jeremiah 37:11 And it came to pass that, when the army of the Chaldeans was broken up from Jerusalem for fear of Pharaoh's army,
Jeremias 37:12 saiu Jeremias de Jerusalém, a fim de ir à terra de Benjamim, para receber ali a sua parte no meio do povo.	Jeremiah 37:12 then Jeremiah went forth out of Jerusalem to go into the land of Benjamin, to receive his portion there, in the midst of the people.
Jeremias 37:13 E quando ele estava à porta de Benjamim, achava-se ali um capitão da guarda, cujo nome era Jurias, filho de Selemias, filho de Hananias, o qual prendeu a Jeremias, o profeta, dizendo: Tu estás desertando para os caldeus.	Jeremiah 37:13 And when he was in the gate of Benjamin, a captain of the ward was there, whose name was Irijah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Hananiah; and he laid hold on Jeremiah the prophet, saying, Thou art falling away to the Chaldeans.
Jeremias 37:14 E Jeremias disse: Isso é falso, não estou desertando para os caldeus. Mas ele não lhe deu ouvidos, de modo que prendeu a Jeremias e o levou aos príncipes.	Jeremiah 37:14 Then said Jeremiah, It is false; I am not falling away to the Chaldeans. But he hearkened not to him; so Irijah laid hold on Jeremiah, and brought him to the princes.
Jeremias 37:15 E os príncipes ficaram muito irados contra Jeremias, de sorte que o açoitaram e o meteram no cárcere, na casa de Jônatas, o escrivão, porquanto a tinham transformado em cárcere.	Jeremiah 37:15 And the princes were wroth with Jeremiah, and smote him, and put him in prison in the house of Jonathan the scribe; for they had made that the prison.
Jeremias 37:16 Tendo Jeremias entrado nas celas do calabouço, e havendo ficado ali muitos dias,	Jeremiah 37:16 When Jeremiah was come into the dungeon-house, and into the cells, and Jeremiah had remained there many days;
Jeremias 37:17 o rei Zedequias mandou soltá-lo e lhe perguntou em sua casa, em segredo: Há alguma palavra da parte do Senhor? Respondeu Jeremias: Há. E acrescentou: Na mão do rei de Babilônia serás entregue.	Jeremiah 37:17 Then Zedekiah the king sent, and fetched him: and the king asked him secretly in his house, and said, Is there any word from Jehovah? And Jeremiah said, There is. He said also, Thou shalt be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon.
Jeremias 37:18 Disse mais Jeremias ao rei Zedequias: Em que tenho pecado contra ti, e contra os teus servos, e contra este povo, para que me pusésseis na prisão?	Jeremiah 37:18 Moreover Jeremiah said unto king Zedekiah, Wherein have I sinned against thee, or against thy servants, or against this people, that ye have put me in prison?
Jeremias 37:19 Onde estão agora os vossos profetas que vos profetizavam, dizendo: O rei de Babilônia não virá contra vós nem contra esta terra?	Jeremiah 37:19 Where now are your prophets that prophesied unto you, saying, The king of Babylon shall not come against you, nor against this land?
Jeremias 37:20 Ora, pois, ouve agora, ó rei, meu senhor: seja aceita agora a minha súplica diante de ti; não me faças tornar à casa de Jônatas, o escriba, para que eu não venha a morrer ali.	Jeremiah 37:20 And now hear, I pray thee, O my lord the king: let my supplication, I pray thee, be presented before thee, that thou cause me not to return to the house of Jonathan the scribe, lest I die there.
Jeremias 37:21 Então ordenou o rei Zedequias que pusessem a Jeremias no átrio da guarda; e deram-lhe um bolo de pão cada dia, da rua dos padeiros, até que se gastou todo o pão da cidade. Assim ficou Jeremias no átrio da guarda.	Jeremiah 37:21 Then Zedekiah the king commanded, and they committed Jeremiah into the court of the guard; and they gave him daily a loaf of bread out of the bakers' street, until all the bread in the city was spent. Thus Jeremiah remained in the court of the guard.
